  1. Thanks Barry I will look at it today and see what I can see. I presume this is s problem on the drive side of the mower? A customer gave me the mower a year or so after I started doing their garden as he didn't want to do it ever again as he's 85!
  2. Forgetting the problems with immigration from Mexico for a minute. What's the point in building a wall to keep people out if it's not going all the way along the border?
  3. Thanks for getting back to me. It's the single roller. Thanks for the tips. Still searching online for a manual😁
  4. Hi all I've got a qualcast 35s that I use for scarifying small lawns. Git it up and running again thanks to help on here. However a new problem in that the transmission/something in the roller is clicking and locking the roller up! Does anyone know where I can find a workshop manual before I rip it to pieces! Many thanks Richard
  5. If I were you I'd get a decent 21 inch walk behind first and worry about ride on mowers later! They are harder to find work for as most homes that need one have one and with a small budget you would be lucky to find anything reliable! If you really want big have a look a the Toro turfmaster 30 inch walk behind. Not trying to be negative but unless you have an unlimited budget there are loads of better things to spend your money on at start up. Good luck though
  6. But if they buy the machine then they have the initial cost plus maintenance. By hiring you are paying for all of it together.(some of the capital and some of the running costs. The guy should only be making money on the labour! It is cheaper to own the bigger machines but it's still not cheap!
  7. It's probably because loncin is now owned by kohler according to Henton and chattel
  8. It does seem a lot if I'm honest as you can run a brand new truck for the same money!
  9. I knew it was something like that!! My lawnflite plainly says kaaz on the deck!
  10. That's one way of looking at it it's going to cost either way. Buy cheap and replace or buy expensive to last. I do think the expensive ones are probably cheaper in the long run as they should last 4 or 5 times as long as cheap ones. I'm an owner operator for the most part so mine get looked after. Time will tell this year as I have 2 lads of the grass runs with me this year as I've had a load of contracts come through!!
  11. No the lawnflite is the rip off!! Kaaz made these mowers first then Honda lawnflite cobra etc copied them under licence as they are so good! I've got the lawnflite pro 21 roller like you say it's heavy but good
  12. I only painted it as I had a bit left from a metal gate I painted for someone left in the tin! I should wash all the decks out more often to be honest. What about the deck on the 21 kaaz roller just wash and let dry? I've got a can of waxoyl somewhere would that be needed or not? I know the Ali decks are not supposed to rust but aluminium does oxidise which is essentially the the same thing isn't it!
  13. You are looking after hundreds if not thousands of mowers making a living keeping old ones running as much as selling new ones I suppose. I'm using my stuff day in day out and only seeing how it holds up. I like the izy as it always starts and leave a good enough finish on the small gardens I use it in. I've painted the underside of the older one once with Hammerite after about 3 years. Mind you if I was to pressure wash the underside it could well drop to pieces proving me wrong. I tend to buy a new mower of some sort each year so I don't use them long enough to rust through I suppose. it's going to be a 19 inch kaaz roller this year as I like the 21 but it's a bit big for some places.
  14. Fair enough I'm only talking from the ones I've got to be fair and for a domestic machine they last ages giving the abuse I give mine. My original one is going on for 7 years old and is not rusty as far as I know but then I've not looked under it for a long time as its not really used now! My sister bought a champion thing for her tiny garden and it disintegrated in about 5 years! Also how long should we expect a mower to last? If I get 3 years from a 3-4 hundred mower I'm happy
  15. That's not what ivecokid means. What he means is that one of the blades is shaped like a hedge cutter blade. The other is like an anvil. It's hard to explain. I disagree with cutting twice as much as single sided in that sense tend to be longer so you get a big sweep I prefer them for most hedges. Also they are harder to cut yourself with in my opinion as you can't catch your legs on the downstroke. I'll try and find a picture of the blades
  16. I bought some and I kind of regret it if I'm honest as I say not bad for really small jobs but can't use them for more than 20 mins really. So I use for small pruning jobs.
  17. Meant to say thanks for the advice👍👍
  18. Not bad for very small jobs. They cut well and are light but the vibes are too high.
  19. The izys don't rust any more than any other steel deck mower probably less! I've got 2 had one for 6 years used commercially for at least one full days worth of cutting a week. They are as bomb proof as you can get for an inexpensive mower.
  20. Update all working now😁 for how long is anyone's guess!
  21. I have a 1200L bin emptied every 2 weeks for £14 plus VAT it's enough for me but then I don't take much waste away
  22. Depends if you want or need the cash I suppose. I would keep if possible as land will always rise in value
