  1. To address your points from my perspective 1 probably true and very sad 2 5000 out of circa 750 million is not many is it? 3 are these all immigrants? 4 hardly relevant 5 is it the migration or the backlash from it that is making things worse? The problem with some of your posts to me is that you come across as horribly racist. It's no good shutting the door after the horse has bolted. I voted out of the EU but migration was not my reason.
  2. Each can take their own view on this. I personally think humans are insignificant in the earths time line. I do think we don't help things to an extent and that's all that's been "proved" so far. We do know that the planet has been heating up and cooling down over several billion years(or do we?) I do think that we should be trying to clean our mess up though! To add to that these academics are only seeing what has been happening in their lifetimes work (and guessing at the past)which in the scheme of things is nothing. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  3. Is it? Not sure myself? Having said that chopping trees down can't help can it!
  4. Sounds good when you say it came today did you manage to get it delivered?
  5. This is a page from one of my mower manuals suggesting weekly checks.
  6. More like 20 trillion dollars'
  7. It depends what you are using it for I suppose. You say a mountain of work but your mountain is someone else's molehill!
  8. Thanks so he was trying to rip me off!! I'll have a go at it myself sometime in the winter!
  9. As a slight derail how much would you charge to change an chain oil pump and worm screw on a ms170? I got quoted £140 so I bought a new one! I've still got the pump and worm thing in the garage waiting for me to attempt to fit it myself! I think the bits were about £20 plus VAT though not sure as they have been sat for over a year now! Thanks
  10. No idea but it's £152 for a reason!
  11. No they are trying to keep their funding!
  12. Have you took the exhaust off and checked the exhaust port?
  13. Is the BT 400 4 mix? If so check the valve clearances. The 4 mix can be a pig to start hot
  14. Makes the fence lighter for 1
  15. Non don't sell any wood at all. Just think the principal is stupid. Would people still kiln dry in the uk if it was not subsidised?
  16. That's true and good luck to you..... Still daft burning wood to dry wood!
  17. I think the point is a good one in general though I don't know about specific trades. I think far too many people are doing the university thing for no other reason than that is what is expected these days! I can think of far better ways of spending £60K or more!!
  18. 46.5 this week for 5000l red
  19. Hi not really thought about it! It needs stripping down and new rings or head gasket or both.I've not looked at it yet as I've had no time to get it out of the machine and stripped. It does run but it's burning oil fairly rapidly! Get in touch if interested and I'll send you the spec.
  20. I've got a 23hp Kohler v twin that's knackered. Starter is fine though don't know if it will fit yours?
  21. Maybe there could be some sort of sliding scale that falls to nothing based on either land size or production (though this is effectively the same thing). In this system you would receive just for example £100 per acre up to 200 acres then £75 per acre for the next 200 and so on. The figures would not work at those levels but the idea is possible. But if would never get through because of said massive farmer/landowners the NFU blah blah. The GDP thing is misleading in this instance IMO as without food no one would be productive workers. The subsidies also pale to insignificant figures when you start looking at other spending. [https://www.theguardian.com/news/datablog/2013/jan/08/uk-benefit-welfare-spending#data/URL] These are old figures but show what I'm getting at. The system is broken and needs rethinking. How much money is spent on defence? You could argue for cutting right back on that so we could not go bombing people in arguably illegal wars!
  22. Is this not because most of these houses have to have people who work in agriculture living in them making them worth less than houses without these stipulations?
  23. PRoW are fine if the hikers keep to them. They often think it's a good idea to walk straight across a crop. That a fact like it or not
  24. Your right lets build cheap houses over all the farmland and let the immigrants live there instead😁
  25. How do they know that without coming out to you? Sorry to hear this though!
