  1. today when i went to start my husqvarna t540xp i put it on full-choke and pulled the starter rope 4 times , on the 4th pull the saw started without making the burp sound , it just started up like it would normally if it was hot so therefore i did not need to knock the choke off and pull it again. is this a bad thing and what does it mean? , i have noticed this a couple of times before a while ago but i thought nothing of it at the time then it happend again today bare in mind i had just done full maintenance on the saw prior to staring it , cleaned air filter, checked spark plug , cleaned dirt of the inside etc. can anyone tell me what this means?

  3. Love seeing old photographs , footage and articles from the arb industry back in the day. thanks for sharing
  4. i always carry my silky gomtaro on my harness , a silky is a very underrated tool and in my opinion is the best tool in a climbers kit bag , all climbers should have a silky its safer and often more appropriate to use instead of a chainsaw when up the tree , more control and more efficient.
  5. Ok , silly question but how long is it recommended that you wait before you replant?

  9. I would get a 461 if you'r going to put a 25inch bar on it.
  10. is there any legislation about what carabiner to use on a chainsaw strop? i currently use a screwgate carabiner on mine used to use a snaplock carabiner because i thought these were ok because they are classed as tool carabiners so i thought it would be ok for a top handle but was told not to use on and to change.
  11. What is the average life for a cambium saver? i know it will depend on how often you use it but how many years would you use one and then throw it away?
  12. how do you find the husky top handle? had any issues with it?
  13. Good Video , what model go pro is it?
  14. when it comes to carrying out crown reduction on a tree or tree(s) what is it that you need to take into consideration in terms of health and species? I am aware of how a crown reduction is done but i know that it cant be carried out on all trees because there are species that don't respond to this treatment? why is this? and what are some of the species that can't it be done on?
  15. Very cool video Jay , what camera are you using on you'r helmet?
  16. Good work and cool pictures , what piece of kit is that that you'r using in pic 10,11 and 13?
  17. That's what caused my problem jim , i have learnt my lesson and now clip it on to my caritool as often as i can or if i can't do that then i let it slide down on my strop very gently.
  18. Start as soon as you can , i started 2 years ago when i was 17 and i climb every week and love it!
  19. I bought my first climbing helmet over a year ago my helmet came with sordin exe ear defenders 25snr (pic below) and was told a couple of months back by an guy who said that my ear defenders where the wrong type and were not protective enough? i had no idea what he meant at the time and he recommended that i buy more expensive ones to use and for especially using loud machinery like chippers , stump grinders etc. i have no idea what 'snr' means and i have never had a problem with my ear defenders and think they are well protective and if they were not any good then why would the dealer sell them? so wanted to know what ear defenders you guys have on your helmets and if there is alot of difference between the types ? , and if it is worth buying some more expensive ones?
