  1. Not much call for full width 6ft wide oak boards in their full width, they usually get cut down...{Nice to start that way though!} Certainly isn't joinery timber though! Its the heart board that might be amazing though? But does anyone want a 6ft wide table? Ahh well some threads bring a lot out in people anyway... Still I suspect would have been better as a tree! Funny, its long time since I worked as primary sawyer a saw mill, But Id have gone for the heart cut first. Then deduce what to do working outwards.... spiral
  2. Thanks Rover, what a fascinating beast! Glad you got it. More pics would be good! any of the butt end? How old was it? spiral
  3. Evryone? As in everyone who posted on this thread was childish? I think not judging from your comment....
  4. What happened next? Spiral
  5. mmmm A New way to coppice on a cool autumn morning! Is the cab heated? no little bonfire needed at tea/soup break even! Great toy, id have two! But crap in the bigger scheme really.... spiral
  6. Raw garlic left on skin can causes sulphur burns... Many people trying to cure spots, warts & STDs . have made that mistake. {to test put a thin slice inside cheek, under foreskin or up bum for as many hours as you can bear.... } But the mafia story for bullets & also Jamaican pimps face cutting knives have truth in them.... If garlic is left in oil in a grubby container for months in the sun it often forms a breeding ground for botulism, not good in a wound... Great stuff when fresh in food though! {Garlic not botulism...} spiral
  7. Looks like part of the further urban spread for immigration purposes! In reality good job though..... spiral
  8. To me it looks like a possibly medieval pollard oak with recovered overgrowth over previous large branch stubs. Shame its not well recorded or protected....Most Ive seen don't recover & overgrow that well. Shame if it goes , but sadly greed rules the world... Anyone who just rings it up for firewood though is a fool to themselves... At least cut it in half to see what its like......first.. If its not hollow & rotted out, pics of it sawn in half would sell it. If its amazing you'll do well. If not you've lost a little time & learnt a lot & seen inside that old beauty. And it can still be firewood.... spiral
  9. He might be sharper than he presents? ... If every misunderstanding is in his financial favour? Spiral
  10. Nicehealthy stocky looking lamb... are they Dorset's? I suspect They'd roast nicely over some dried contorted grain beech firewood type coals! That would be my plan! spiral
  11. That's true in most cases. {As long as you've followed evry detail of the small print.} But the con man still gets the money... { Ebay & paypal fees no doubt include a percentage to cover the amount they expect to lose.} spiral
  12. Cloned pages are usually a different scam, if you pay by paypal they can have the money transferred to a bank account within 2 hours...Then there ways of drawing or if less knowledgeable just transferring it on to places you can. spiral
  13. If you put together cedar planks & black walnut shavings both wanted, Id guess bee keeping. Black walnut shavings are often burnt to create the smoke used in making the bees compliant/dozy etc. spiral
  14. 6 months would be good... spiral
  15. Thanks Daltontrees! I am sure it the tylosis that does it, but your explanation was far more eloquent & detailed than mine! spiral
  16. I put it in the link in the post immediately above yours! spiral
  17. Often Chestnut pores are full of tylosis that reduces penetration or evaporation of moisture . It burns slowly when dry, as does alder, not much heat, both better for stove than fire. But all dry wood burns... spiral
  18. Cool! Spiral
  19. A couple of bowls for that much timber? Wow! No handful of crisp folding as well? Spiral
  20. Lots of badgers here still,{North Devon.} don't se the enormous ones I used to 20 years ago though. Some badgers carry TB, those infected clans should be destroyed, some deer do, logic says those infected herds, should be destroyed, Some cattle do, so really to my mind, those herds should be destroyed as well. Only by across the board action against infected clans & herds of all species will TB be beaten. spiral
  21. Thank you so can you. My eyes were on Devon.
  22. Good one! That could be true! Perhaps I should have said knowledgeable... that was proved many times, But the overall logic of the statement still stands. Spiral
  23. As a wise man once said to me what you think or imagine is not a factual information resource. Spiral
  24. Why did you wee on it? Spiral
  25. Contact Herts police & crime commissioner David Lloyd on, 01707 806100 & report as organised fraud. Explain PC misunderstood the situation or the law. You are entitled to an appointment with him if necessary, if you prefer face to face discussion. Spiral
