  1. Yeah, good point. It's well known after Brexit the UK will be towed away from the European coast. I just hope we get towed somewhere warm! Maybe off Australia.
  2. Why is the EU good for business? Outside the EU we can do trade deals with the rest of the world? Has EU environmental legislation been good for business? It seems foolish that the EU taxes pollution meaning that heavy industry leaves the EU and goes to China.... EU environmental legislation pushes jobs away and China mess up the environment instead.
  3. Tony Blair wants the UK to stay in the EU. You really trust his judgement? You'd have to be blind not to see the damage the EU has done to the UK and the British people. While at the same time Bremoaners seem incapable to articulate why the EU was good for Britain. Apart from petty insults do you have any arguments as to why we should remain in the EU?
  4. What annoys me about the EU is that we never even voted to join a united Europe in the first place!! In 1973 we voted to join a European trade block, this then morphed into the EU. In 2015 we voted for Brexit and now we have politicians that want another referendum so we can have our say... I have to admit I have untold contempt for the Liberal Democrats. For 40 years they didn't want a referendum on Europe and then we get Brexit and they're suddenly keen for a second referendum so we can have our say?? Where were they between 1973 and 2015? Democracy really shouldn't work like this.
  5. Do you really think the EU can be reformed? David Cameron tried to get some concessions and he got absolutely nothing.
  6. Just dropping this in here. Of course if anyone is offended by it maybe we could organise a group hug?
  7. I think one thing that is "clear" is that certain thread subjects are more interesting than others. Brexit is probably the biggest political issue that the UK has faced in the last 50 years. It's strange that people are coming onto a thread in the "General Chat" area of Arbtalk to suggest we shouldn't be discussing it.... We voted for Brexit because Bremoaners hadn't been listening to the concerns of people for decades. It looks like Bremoaners haven't learned any lessons and still want to shut down discussion when someone says something they don't like.
  8. I think it depends if the risk was foreseeable to a competent person. If someone is injured by something like power cables it's interview under caution with the HSE time. If someone is injured by a falling meteorite I can't see anything happening.
  9. You paid £200 for a fan!!! I bet the shop assistants were "high fiving" each other when you walked out the door!! LOL, more money than sense!!
  10. How can British workers "defend their rights" when there are millions of EU migrants that will work for less money? Honestly have you ever had to negotiate for anything? I'd guess not. Why was Big Business so keen on remaining in the EU? They want to us to stay in so they can get EU migrants to reduce wages. How many times are there threads here saying "so many new outfits in my area meaning tree rates are cut"? Yet somehow you don't think increased competition reduces income! Are you really that deluded???!! So what does the average EU migrant pay in tax? The evidence I've seen is they are, on average, a drain to the taxpayer!! Honestly, if they contribute more than they take out present some evidence!! You have to earn about £35k a year before you contribute more in tax than you take out. You think many EU migrants earn that much??!! i wouldn't decribe you as "gullible" you're completely naive.
  11. That's not really the point though.... Brits pay tax to a British Government.... I bet the number of Brits moving to Northumberland is relatively small and there are people moving in the opposite direction.... so no one really cares if we get a few brits from other areas moving to our home towns. EU migration is a one way street.... The inability of Bremoaners to understand why people don't like this is the main reason we got Brexit, so thanks very much
  12. good to hear.
  13. 3 days no sleep and you're using heavy machinery? Back in 2001 someone fell asleep driving and his vehicle ended up on a rail track. Ten people died in the train crash... I admire your work ethic, however no sleep and working is foolish....
  14. Bremoaners lie to us saying that we need EU migrants because they pay tax. How much does the average EU migrant earn? The ones I see working in shops etc would be lucky to earn £15k a year. The income tax and NI paid on that salary is £1500 a year.... The NHS by itself costs on average £2000 a year per person. The average EU migrant is a drain to the taxpayer.....
  15. Ohh, let's get this right. You're basically saying EU migrants are awesome for Britain? If the migrants are so good why are their home countries so poor? If the migrants are so good should we not be charitable and send them to the third world to benefit places like Africa and Pakistan? Wages are low in the UK because Brits are being undercut by millions of East European migrants. I've known people that were working in a warehouse through an agency. Then one week they're told not to come back and a bunch of East Europeans are doing their jobs for less money. I've seen migrants do skilled jobs in construction for £5 an hour!! Honestly, you should stop believing everything the BBC tells you and go and speak to people that work in construction or in a factory etc. Honestly, the only really good thing about East European immigration is the number of fit Polish birds kicking about. I'd hope they'd make fat British birds raise their game a bit.
  16. I think most people are against greenbelt being built on. You reduce immigration and you reduce the amount of greenbelt that is built on... On the news this morning Labour were saying we need so many new houses in the UK. Tbh, if we get a hard Brexit and EU migrants are forced to leave the UK we wouldn't need to build any more houses and the greenbelt will be saved.... Come on Wes, you seem one of the smarter people here, surely you can see that?
  17. "Migrants make up eight in ten new households over the past 15 years, new figures reveal" Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5083647/Migration-report-builds-pressure-new-housing.html#ixzz4ya2BEDul
  18. Brits have had "rights" for the last 1000 years... The Magna Carta was signed in 1215.... We don't need the EU to give us "rights". Anyway, is the EU not more interested in giving criminals and terrorists "rights"? How many terrorists have avoided deportation because of EU Human Rights legislation? Do you have any proof that EU migrants pay more tax than Brits? I'll be honest, if you cite anything by Professor Dustman I'll think you a bit of a fool Ohhh, so millions of EU migrants haven't had any effect on social housing? What planet do you live on? Do you really want the green belt built on to accommodate millions of EU migrants? Do you really hate the countryside that much? Of course millions of EU migrants have lowered wages in the UK!!!! Even Lord Rose (chairman of Bremain) said leaving the EU would increase wages!!!
  19. Europe started off as a trade block. However it's clear that the EU is about making a super country called the EU. We've never been asked what we thought of this idea. You can't blame people for saying "FU EU". Has being in the EU been good for Greece? What about the rights of Brits? You think I like having to pay tax so that the Government gives it to the EU and EU migrants? You think Brits like competing for jobs with migrants that work for pitiful wages? You think Brits like EU migrants skipping the queue for things like council housing? The EU should never have expanded to accept the old communist states. The standards of living are just too different between places like Poland and Germany.
  20. This is the type of "standards" that the EU gets involved in. Honestly, will anyone regret losing the right to interfere with how much power a vacuum cleaner uses? Javelin, is your hobby designing vacuum cleaners or something?
  21. You seem to be unable to articulate why not being able to decide EU standards is such a bad thing though.... Honestly, if that's the reason you think the EU is such a good thing it's absolutedly bizarre.
  22. Ahhh, OK. Every other country in the world can meet EU standards and export to the EU. However an independent UK won't be able to meet EU standards. I'm glad that's all been cleared up You're such a retard you don't even know when you insult people.
  23. I've lived in the Middle East. The Arabs absolutedly love Range Rovers!! Does the UK get involved with car standards in the Middle East? No we don't... We still export cars there... The Chinese sell lots of stuff to the EU. Do the Chinese get involved in EU standards? If the EU changes standards does it really matter? Your "point" seems absolutedly pointless. I'd suggest you're the "retard" in this discussion.
  24. I have to admit that it says a lot that Bremoaners have to resort to insults.... I honestly wish all the Bremoaners would hop on a plane and live in the EU.
  25. maybe you could tone down the rhetoric a bit?
