  1. Stihl make great combi cans. Wouldn't use anything else.
  2. All the best Paul, hope to see you again soon mate.
  3. Lol, I was thinking similar.
  4. I used to get people coming to me from the Facebook page that didn't want to pay for tree work or just wanted it done cheap or to be given a quote without looking at the job. I don't use it anymore.
  5. I want to shop at marks and Spencer's all the time but the price is too high. They ain't got a clue.
  6. Logs are the last thing I'm thinking about for the next 2 weeks as I'm off now, if anyone calls up asking for them I have plenty of numbers I can pass on:) have a great Christmas everyone.
  7. We seem to all have the same experiences with quoting for jobs. I now quote what I want/need to do that job. If I get asked to do a job for a mate, and they are a genuine mate then I look after them but big jobs for mates I explain the costs a bit to them and they usually understand.
  8. I'd want £1000 +vat mate.
  9. How many days work and for how many men?
  10. Ahh, that's what I meant mate, got my words mixed up. Xxxx

  13. No idea mate, it's very strange.
  14. He had a saw kick back into his calf and it's made a right mess by all accounts, cut the tendons, he's packed in now I heard due to the injury.
  15. My Friend who is a wood turner says As it is Oak/Walnut it's worth a lot of money, so how much will you give me for it:)
  16. He lives just down the road from me in grange, I might have to go and look, I have my suspicions who it is.
  17. Ha,Ha I had to laugh Paul when they called you a bell end, they should take a look at themselves before calling you. Sod them mate, your a good bloke and I reckon there just jealous. All the best mate!!
  18. I'm in Cumbria, i couldn't tell you that hat an employed Forman of a tree gang get round here but I doubt it would be what your paying. Yours seem a hell of a good wage. £36k that's a bloody good wage. You have to ask yourself what the people are on that are looking at your job and turning it down.
  19. Not what your paying, that's a subbie climber day rate so to be employed on that is very good.
  20. I have to mate, I have fallen for the "can I have some logs before Christmas and I will get them off you all the time" routine in the past, took a guy some out on Christmas Eve a few years back, I even put them in his shed, he paid and said what a good load and he'd get them again, never heard from him again and I've seen him getting it of other people since so I decided to just look after my regulars.
  21. Hi all, does anyone know if you can buy a ready made part that the rear lights on a landrover tipper fit onto? It bolts on to the cross member and the lights fasten onto it. I am changing from transit style rear lights to led landrover lights and my fixing plates are all rotten. Any help would be appreciated.
  22. Because I could tell his type, you get to know them and ok he may have become my best customer but on the flip side he may not and then one of my regulars might of not got any logs, I don't have an endless stock of dry wood you see it's all on rotation so I really have to be careful as to who I sell to.
  23. It's pretty intense:)
  24. A good "shot" is a whole lemon and a 1cm of ginger, it's a real wake me up.
  25. 2 apple, 2 carrots, 2 pears and 1 Orange is nice. Then chuck it in the blender with ice and a banana. Mmmmmmm
