  9. Got a major case of shinyitess at the moment, i saw a picture on deans profile and thought my dreams had come true. Dean told me about them and said they were a bit pricey so i called my dealer for info, £37,000 + VAT+Tipper. I was gutted, gonna have to start saving for a used one in 3 years. check em out though. i reckon they would be the perfect Arb truck. look forward to your replys peeps.
  10. guess/bend the truth/white lie. a tonne can be anything depending on size, its all down to experience and learning the trade and thinking.
  11. cant go anywhere without bloody rags.
  12. imo you should shut the tip and then it aint on ya mind all the time, lifes to short mate. i have found that if you let it eat away at ya its not a good thing.
  13. They are all bloody awful in hot weather, someone needs to invent pants with air vents in the crotch then it would stop ya getting jock itch!!!!
  14. I hope everone is having as good weather as we are in the Lake District. Its so nice to be able to crack on with a job without getting soaked and having to dry out gear and ropes etc. ok its hot work, but it just makes things easier. long may it last.
  15. i got stopped by the police for a routine check the other day, they checked the vehicle over and then the EA came and checked what i was carrying. i had a chat with the lady from EA and she said it was a bit of a grey area. i told here that all wood was kept for selling as firewood and that the chip was given away to whoever wanted it and she said this was fine. maybe i got lucky??
  16. i had actually quoted "if the wotsits hits the fan go home" of rupe. yes the insurance will cover it but that is no excuse for doing a shoddy job, accidents do happen but accidents due to neglagence are in excusable in my opinion.
  17. If the wotsit hits the fan, go home! Not your problem. Thats not a very responsable attitude in my opinion. if you are doing a job as a subbie or on your own it should be done right and if you mess up then take responsabilty for it, there are to many people about passing the buck, thats why this country is in the state its in.
  18. There is nothing "gay" about protecting against skin cancer. i wear factor 50 nivia every day. its time people woke up to skin protection.
  19. why do you ask Bareroots? have you been asked to do something out of the ordinary?
  20. seems well over the top does that, 5k to leave on site!! bet it wouldnt be that if it was good old hardwood.
  21. I have had a pair for a couple of months and they are great, they are very hard wearing, better than the stihl that most people wear. my stihl didnt last long at all.
  22. This is the problem with our industry, there is no legal requirement to trade as a tree surgeon. As i have said on here before, to trade as a gas fitter you must be corgi regesterd, part p compliant for electricians etc but for us there is nothing that is a legal requirement.
