The Hobbs is an amazing bit of kit, you can lower big chunks with ease and precision, we also had a guide rope attatched so ste could pull the chunks over the wall into the field as is used the hobbs to lower them with no hassel. a good climber with knowledge is a must too.
  6. Nice work. looks great.
  7. Nicks number is at the bottom of his articles in forestry journal, he should be on arbtalk as his articles are very interesting and entertaining. someone should get him to join arbtalk.
  8. i really like the body mate, the wood looks great, is it very heavy?
  9. I know what you are saying, the husky 395xpg just seems to have more grunt. i am very happy with it, i got it for £949 with 28 and 36 inch bars and chains. i also have a husk 372 with 15"/18"20" bars, think its a great saw also. i hvae had a few stihls and thought the huskys were better, well except for the ms200t.
  10. did you build the tipping body, where did you get the ram from? ive been having a problem with mine.
  11. Nice landy mate. What is the wood used for your chip body? Heres mine.

Todays job, only saw 2 planes all day. JP Beaver was the climber and we lowered of it with his Hobbs, made the job alot easier although the bendy branches were a bit of fun.
  14. Who do you work for mate or are you freelance?
  15. No its not mate, i saw that article though.
  16. tell me about it, the lock sucks, but im used to it now:laugh1:
  17. I have had it 18 mths, i put the wheels and winch on off my old landy. it is a landrover special vehicles 130 tipper. i had high sides and toolbox fitted, the tool box runs down the nears side of the tipping body. you can get a fair bit of chip in the box, but not as much as in that daily 4x4.
  18. lookforward to seing that, get a video on with it frapped up. wing, wing, wing.
