    Eco fan?

I got it off glowing embers website. 97.99 including delivery. I had looked on the bay and only found a couple of second hand fans. I feel it is worth it as it made such a difference.
  2. Nothing worse than taking dry logs to a customer then them saying they get stacked outside not undercover!
  3. If you can use one and the customer will pay then cranes are just great. Shame we can't use them on every job as it would make the job so much easier:) good job Steve!!

    Eco fan?

I have bought one, its made an instant impact, instead of the room being really hot it's spreading the heat more so the room is more bearable. I have opened the living room door and the house does feel a tad warmer with the heating off. So far I think it will be worth it.
  5. I agree on the deluge trousers, I have 5 pairs!! I keep them re proofed and. I can dry them out while I use the next pair.
  6. Clark cut and climb jacket it the best and most waterproof jacket that I have ever had. They don't need re proofing. Brilliant jacket.
  7. If I had 36 grand plus vat I would too:)
  8. So have mine Steve, since we switched to eon, they have now told us the £80 per month direct debit is going up to £205 per month! ( gas and electric) I said I know we are using more gas as we have a new baby in the house but that's crazy. They then said I owe them £250. I have just switched us back to British Gas who have looked at our figures and say our direct debit per month will be £90. We have started using the woodburner from when we get up to when we go to bed. Just wondering if an Eco fan would help??
  9. I have over the last few years tried to educate my loyal customers into buying wood in the summer and before they run out in winter, this way the wood I deliver is put in the storage area/shed/garage etc and is dry when needed. My cord ( birch/ash,beech/sycamore) is left in lengths and cut to order, it is at least 18 months old and even on a wet day once split is lovely and dry in the middle. Some times even its is a bit damp it drys up when left in a well vented area. I have a small barn which is used to store logs in and sheds made in my yard which I split my tree surgery timber into, this is all nice and dry. I really can't be arsed dealing with a customer who from the moment you arrive with Thor wood is moaning, is that all to get for £80! Are you sure it's hard wood. I just look after my decent customers and the others can take a hike:)

    Insurance.

I have with been with Trust for about 8 years, they paid out with no fuss when I had a claim. They may not be the cheapest but I'm happy with them.
  11. Hi, have a look in the search section here in arbtalk, the answer is there.
  12. I have a 130 crew cab landy, it hold 4 cube of chip and it can go a lot of places where a transit won't. I'm lucky that I have plenty of tip sites around my area. I used to have a transit and even though it could hold lots of chip it wasn't easy getting into some sites/drives for logs.
  13. In an ideal world we would all like to charge more for the work we do but since our economy took a turn for the worst everyone seems to have a chainsaw and think its easy to do tree work. I had a lady call up and as if I could go and look at a tree I'm her garden, when I arrived there was a nice new car on the drive of the big detached house. She explained that the tree in the garden needs lopping off there!! I explained that it needs reducing down to a suitable growth point and a bit of thinning, she told me that she didn't want that she just wanted it lopping off there. I have her a quote to do the propper job of 400 and a quote of 280 to just lop it. She told me the gardener would lop it for 80 quid!! Bye,Bye.
  14. Don't let it get your back up, I get them ringing up, "how much is your wood?" They don't ask if its seasoned or what type of wood it is they just ask how much. To these I just tell them, " sorry I don't want to sell to you, goodbye!!"
  15. I just read your post and I notice you use the word cheap quite a lot. You get what you pay for in this game, processors seem expensive you say? Well that because they are designd and made to cut and split big bits off wood so they have to be well made to start with then there is the life span of the machine say 20 years, a cheap machine won't last. Wood isn't cheap unless its rubbish. I think you need think about why you want to do this before anything else, if its to get rich then I wouldn't bother. It takes a lot of hard work and time to make a little.

    Eco fan?

Does it move it into the rest of the house if you leave the door open?
