  1. Always wanted a Victor, I'd have loved the engine in a Mettise chassis but that was 50 years ago although they're still around albeit with a Triumph engine. METISSE HAMMER MK3 - Metisse WWW.METISSE-MOTORCYCLES.COM

  6. Hi, I agree with all that's been said already, but you might be interested in looking at the sharpening advice from Rob D on here who has a business called chainsawbars . He has a series of videos where he explains aspects of sharpening and the various methods including the use of the tools already recommended, if you visit his site you'll find a video of what you want to know... hope this helps.. 9. Nice log arch 👍
  10. A friend of mine who took up gardening as a full time job to keep fit after early retirement bought Efco stuff, and although it's very plastic to be fair for the price it hasn't broken yet even though he's totally cack- handed and previously manage to feck a pile of Ryobi stuff which was in the same price range. Not sure if that means he's learnt something [ which I doubt ] or Efco gear is better🙄FWIW
  11. Perhaps neither is genuine, what year is the saw ? I thought that Stihl pistons were made by Mahle which afaik is usually marked , but perhaps this is no longer the case, the markings you show look like they're done with an etching pencil when I'd expect them to be stamped... found this picture of an oem piston, the markings are different but hard to see, but there are others on here who will know more than me about this saw, good luck. 13. Well the T is very close to the G and at just after 10 pm the bar would have been open for quite a while🤪 Either that or you changed my post in the name of sport... which would be just fine 👍
  14. So more than the price of a good s/h wee digger for a stone cutter when in reality you just need to cut 4 1/2" to clear most building jobs.🙄 As I managed to convert my MSA 200 to the spec of the 220 3/8 full chiz 24m/s.. a different animal altogether, for £66 all in, 14"bar, chain and sprocket all OEM... I'm wondering just how much it wouldn't cost to convert the 410 to the 420 / 14" using OEM parts from my local dealer who I have to say I'm happy with and they are happy to help. It's probably just the plastic casing, belt length and blade shroud.. and if by chance the engines different, which I doubt, all the parts will be interchangeable, food for thought if you've got a 410 and you'd like a deeper cut.👍
  15. So was the previous 20ft hedge shading their garden or whole house and had you had any conversation about it, it would seem like grounds for animosity ? although I couldn't comment without pictures. I agree with not planting bamboo from previous experience.. but although Laurel will be slow to begin with after a few years the right species will take off and become a thicket of dense trees... which may result in an unnecessary standoff. I have thick Laurel just like this between myself and my neighbours which I keep to a height just enough for me to manage easily about shoulder+ height which gives them privacy but also daylight .. ie, I can't see into their Gable windows or patio area, which I see as respectful. But they on the other hand they don't give 2 fecks about a beech hedge at the front that's getting to 15ftx10ft and mixed jaggy shite at the back about the same height that spreads over to me which twice every year I've got the task of knocking back, so as I get older they may be in for a rude awakening😈 feckin 2nd homers anyway... not much respect do they have, and less do I .
  16. Not sure what the monetary units are but it looks like the list price is more than 4k ! From trying to find a price it would seem that it's being marketed for rental.. the new normal ? 17. Personally I've nothing against battery tools, I really like my Stihl msa and various other cordless toys but I think we're probably at least a couple of generations of battery technology away from them being any good for large powerful tools. ' Aye, it's brilliant, it's battery powered... but a cannae lift it ! ' 😁
  18. My thoughts as well All my stuff is Stihl also but the K770 seems to get a lot of 5 star reviews.
