  2. ill definatly be there i think the main thing for me is practice and seeing how others do it with the camping ill hold off booking anything until later in the week and see if any other arbtalkers are camping.
  3. Brilliant ill bring my gear with me I have some experience but not a lot so am not completely green its things like branch walking I struggle with. Is anyone camping nearby sounds like a good opportunity to meet up with more arbtalkers
  4. Any chance of a newby getting a climbing lesson from you guys before I go do cs38/39 two weeks after this ?
  5. about £750 looked at one or two where cs38 would be that by itself just need some advice on how best to prepare now
  6. ive just booked with roland hemming didnt really want the travel but was near £500 cheaper
  7. hi all need to do cs 38/39 asap and need a collage in the north east idealy that does them prefrably combined or back to back and doesnt charge over the odds for it i am willing to travel to do the course but closer is better im in middlesbrough if that helps thanks mike
  8. That's swayed it then lol do o need to book campsite or just turn up?
  9. is there onsite camping or is there an unofficial arbtalk campsite nearby jon i dont fancy sleeping in the car and if i have to pay for a hotel aswell then its not going to happen to be honest im amazed the wife is letting me out to play at all so i best keep it as cheap as possible then theres less chance of divorce when she sees ive came home with a new saw or three
  10. as the title states im thinking of heading off to the arb show next month but am sat umming and arring trying to justify the drive so if someone could sell it to me with a few words just to swing the arguement in my head that would be great thanks
  11. It feels nicer I can't really put my finger on any reason other than that and it looks awesome the oil being slow is even with just veg oil in it its still slow apart from looks tho and price I don't think there's that much in it just personal preference
  12. Mine feels loads better than the sthil one only use the easy fill spout on the fuel mind the oil is too slow
  13. well ive had Rachel working for me for the last two days and what can i say that others haven't yet. i will employ her again in a heartbeat. she has an enthusiasm that i have only come across a few times and a work ethic that seems to be dying out in this generation. she is friendly, polite, has a cracking sense of humor and is dead easy to get on with. if i had enough work to offer her a full time job i would do so immediately as she impressed me that much. oh and she is more aesthetically pleasing than most gorundies ive had the pleasure of working with
  14. have liuked all the pages linked to on here could you all do the same please https://www.facebook.com/viking.garden.services
  15. i was going to go to roland hemming but was told that i need to supply my own gear due to there being another course running at the same time. i get that i need the gear but cant find myself a setup for less that £500
  16. Do they provide the kit aswel for that price or do you have to bring your own? Thanks Mike
  17. could i ask where your booked on and how much it cost? im trying to get on a course asap thanks mike
  18. Knew I'd seen it somewhere lol Ibe sent you a WhatsApp message re a possible weekend job
  19. Silky that site looks familiar can u ask where it is you can message me if you don't want the location posted for all to see even just the town name would do its bugging me how familiar it is yet I can't recall where
  20. So in my self employed state as a subbi what can iexpect to charge for a day with windblown vs a day as a climber or a day doing big trees
  21. Thank you I had never considered cs50 is this any different to cs 34 and 35 windblown trees I'm just trying to justify my expenses a little as getting 38/39 and the kit to go with it is about 3k by the time I have payed more in insurance whereas I have all the kit for windblown and big trees I know I've got to spend it to earn it tho so aslong as i can get enough days work it will pay for itself. Anyone want to offer me a few days work with damaged trees and a few days with a climbing team so I can get more of a feel for wich I prefer
  22. hi all im looking for some advice. I have a small amount of cash set aside for training and am not sure what to spend it on. I want to do my climbing tickets but I also want to do big trees and windblown. I will be doing them all at some point but i need to prioritize right now which will make me the most money in the least amount of time. I have heard all the usual follow your heart and do what makes you happy but i enjoy being in the woods knocking sticks over as much as I enjoy working in gardens thanks mike
