  1. Apart from Treelife, I believe Warwickshire College (Moreton Morrel) do it. And that's it!
  2. He has the right to find out if they have been negligent, but just because a tree falls on his car does not mean the council have been negligent. Did SSC have an appropriate tree safety policy? Was the surveyor suitably qualified and experienced? Did the surveyor follow procedure? Did the surveyor make the right judgement based on the evidence in front of him or her, at the time of the survey? Were any works actioned in accordance with their policy?
  3. Kind of ish.
  4. I was taught the same. I think the main problem is finding the true boundary.
  5. and that looks nothing like hazel arrghhh

Get signed up for bone marrow harvesting. Or else.
  7. The spicy meatballs at lunchtime were pucka as was the strawberry-based cake slice.

I would do platelets, but it means a 45 mile round trip for me at the mo.

They just use AB+ for zombie film props.
  11. You're in the consistent top 5 posters in here. The rankings of which vary day by day.
  12. I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna say hazel. Look at that top leaf. That's hazel. Rounded, pointed, serrated.

Absolutely hate needles. But I grin and bare it as it's far less bother than being in the position of needing it. Anyone else registered for bone marrow harvesting? If you register, the chance of you ever donating is massively slim. So you might as well join up. All you need to do is fill out a form and gob in a pot and put it in the post. Anthony Nolan | The UK's blood cancer charity and bone marrow register. If you think having a needle shoved into your bone is something you don't fancy, it might hurt but its not even comparable to being in the position that you need a bone marrow transplant. Get on it! (I don't think you get crisps and biscuits for that one though).
  14. Changed my mind

  16. The ultra-glossy leaves in the top pic have a more short/stubby look like camellia innit, but they have alternate leaves. If someone handed me an individual leaf I would say it was camellia.
  17. Ligustrum lucidum? (going by the glossy leaves that remind me a lot of camellia). That's a guess though.
  18. Nice one Tony! I have a book to bung in too (plus cherry coke and haribo). Any other suggestions for things to spot? I'll try and get a ticklist done this evening and bunged up here.
  19. Buy a different house. There's plenty that look the same that don't have a tree out the front.
  20. Does it come with the pile of brash? That would be the deal sealed for me. Otherwise, I'm walking.
  21. I've got a download demo of Pear Tech's software which I will comment on over this weekend. I've also been working on a MS Access database and am starting to see the light with it I think, although quite a way to go with it. Once that is "done" though, it'll be good for the foreseeable future.
  22. The UK equivalent of $1500 would be much better spent elsewhere, as noble as it is to want to save the tree. If it were the sole example of a species in the woodland then it would be more worth it. If there's other beech then make their lot better. Money is a pain in the proverbial.
  23. not in a woodland you wouldn't.
  24. Goodbye 3 worm drives on 2 saws in a month.
  25. Yeah I was going to approach them once I have a better appreciation of what is there
