  1. Coolio. I am a definite. I can probably grab a couple or 3 more people. It seems like it was kind of forgotten about not long after its inception. Maybe if enough of us make a noise then it'll get resurrected.
  2. Hi Verena, unsure if you still visit this forum but how did you get on with this? I emailed Treeworks about SSM in October and am yet to receive a reply (I really should chase this up).
  3. Shoulder pain might be from inactivity or even wind! It'll probably go once you start moving around a bit.
  4. Mine fully blew in 2003, leading to a bladder infection which kept me in hospital with tubes where men shouldn't have tubes, for 2 weeks. I was signed off for 2 weeks after leaving hospital and it took probably 3 months until I was fit again (although wasn't climbing). I guess it's finding the balance between taking it easy and doing something strenuous, so that you heal well.
  5. got 2 pairs of Discoveries which I wish I waxed up more. massively comfey and well priced. pay attention to the inside of the feet, just behind the toecap as it can crease up and split.
  6. was planting a Cunninghamia lanceolata once when I managed to whip myself across my eye with its leaves. that took almost a week to stop aching. was grim.
  7. You should probably watch the video. They NT went against the advice of the report which said "roots are pucka, trees a goodn".
  8. 10T to the gram.
  9. Interesting video. Wonder what the point was in paying out for a report on it if they weren't going to work to the recommendations.
  10. Is that at Burnham?
  11. Gary busey is a legend. 100 x better than keano.
  12. wouldn't worry if you have the most recent incarnation.of cs32 as it says trees larger than guide bar, with no upper limit. at least I hope that's the case. need to.get on and do windblown, plenty to practise on
  13. cherry.
  14. Rips are a really quick way of getting out back in big surf. Unfortunately on the more popular beaches, this is where novices come a cropper as they don't know about them, don't know how to deal with them, and have no intention of going out back so end up being dragged out from strong 2-3foot faces of whitewater, to the overhead barreling monsters where they get held down by 3-4 consecutive waves, before either getting pushed in enough that they are out of the impact zone, get rescued or the bad thing.
  15. And 500 years to get a decent all-round ecosystem, incorporating soils, fungi, well balanced food webs and everything else.
  16. Safe. I'm going out at the point at Gwenver then. or i might hide in bed.
  17. Harlyn would love it.
  18. Fell and replace imo.
  19. I'm as miserable as sin.
  20. I'm going to be writing a letter to Tesco I think. Right after I finish my letter to Haywoods to complain about the consistently soggy pickled red cabbage that they produce. It used to be crunchy.
  21. As one of the council guys who contract out this kind of work, I'm hoping I don't have to make the call. But if I do, I'm up for helping out to get everyone home quicker.
  22. Hi, Just putting up our Christmas tree which is a fake Abies nordmanniana and noticed it has the cones of Pinus sylvestris. This is now grating on me. I hate putting the tree up and the fact this now has to sit in the corner staring at me for the next fortnight fills me with rage. Bag humbug.
  23. Everyone's always quick to point the finger at other peoples tree management. I don't imagine they took the decision lightly. Maybe they have jumped the gun a little, I wouldn't know as I haven't surveyed it. I would be interested to see their workings though. There's a great deal of difference between 5% live wood and 5% remaining residual wall. I've seen quite a few stories in the Mail and the Express that slag organisations off for felling trees, then all the arm-chair experts come out.
  24. I used to drive a forwarder trailer on the Wickham road between Leigh park and other side of Winchester. what I found was that often the queues would build up behind you because people were too timid to overtake on the long wide straight sections then as people have said, very few pullins to let people past.
