  5. Proper pruning means cutting cleanly to an eye . Most gardeners , nurserys' use secateurs , which are Ok if sharp and used correctly but they tend to crush on the anvil side , which obviously isn't good. I grew up being taught the old style of pruning with a knife , which gives a clean cut and heals very well. My plant sometimes gets the odd yellowing , but not much.   19. I am no arborist , I cut a bit of firewood , so this was a big job for me. Large windfall oak the farmer needed clearing. I used to shoot pigeon out of this tree when I first had a shotgun 40 years ago. Shame it had to go. Sent from my SM-G900F using Arbtalk mobile app
