  1. The trouble is everyone now seems to sell logs ,I do not want to offend but the manufacturers are pushing firewood processors like mad claiming goodness nows how many cubes of logs it will produce an hour with no thought as to where all the wood is comming from, but that does nt concern them as long as they make a sale.Lots of people on here want ready seasoned hardwood delivered now presumably for a quick turnaround. With the way prices are I can t see why they want to get involved if I had not been at this since 1995 I would not bother now what with the investment required. 1000 tons a year inc delivery £55000 to £60000 a processor £20000 plus tractor pick up chainsaw splitter and running costs. Sorry to go on but get your supplies organized first then go shopping for the rest. Chris.
  2. Good luck it will be like trying to find rocking horse poo down here . Ive been at it since 1995 and it gets harder to find and when you do it won t be cheap.I run my lorry and trailer all over wales and to England to source enough. Plenty of softwood though could do a load of softwood if you wanted .Mob 07970 065953. Cheers Chris
  3. Hi shendy. I bought a splitta 360 from the APF last year very good machine as it does logs and kinling.Have not used it as much as I thought as netted logs and kindling not taken off like I thuoght it would down here .Loads of logs going mad though but got palax 100s for this. The splitta 360 is like new has the kit for 6" 8" and 10" logs/kindling also complete with manual bagger save yourself over £3000 I wont £9000 for it .Oh it runs of the tractor hydraulics so you can run 2 machines together. You or any one else interested just get in touch. My mobile 07970 065953 Chris.
  4. hi st135r Not got acumalator tank no one had any ideas of this boiler in 2004 all plumbers thought I was mad they just wanted to fit gas or oil combi. We had a new build of timber frame and extra insulation etc.At moment fire it once a day about 4 pm 1 load of wood heating on all evening switch boiler off about 10 pm and heating.Loads of hot water all night and day and I have 3 daughters always in the shower. If it gets realy cold will fire it in morning as well and heating all day.Log boiler obvious choice as been doing this since 1995. One of my customers has a barn of place and has 75kw log boiler and 2 2500 litre tanks He uses about 40 cube of softwood about £2000 from me instead of £10000 in oil also solar to heat water in summer. Hope this helps Chris.
  5. Hi are you sure you need 45kw ? My house 5 beds etc and have a 25kw vigas log boiler from 2004 and works realy well.As you are going the water srorage route you will be better off with soft wood, easier to source and a lot cheaper to buy ,but process it straight away and stack in an airy site with just the top covered. It s a pitty you are so far from me as I could probably help as I have lorry and trailer for delivery.Hope this is helpful Chris.
  6. hi if you are getting wood free I would not worry about the spieces but cut and split it asap and stack off the ground against the outside of shed but only cover the top to stop the rain. .The drier you can get them the hotter the will burn.
