  9. Second that ,you can still find some good stuff if you look away from the mass produced make it as light as you can with as small engine as you can get away with, nowt like a big lump of steel and a big lazy engine. Chris

  11. Why put billets in the shed why not store outside with just the top covered then process into the bags dry and store them in the shed. Depends on how big the billets are and how neatly stacked so as others have said probably 10 different answers from 10 different people, but a guess maybe just over a bag a metre. Chris
  12. Hi bag supplies.com seem to have various sizes and prices depend how many you want.Worth a look to compare with others. Cheers Chris
  13. Hi I have no experiance of these, but how about a dodge ram diesel take the body off put chipper on a turntable and with the cummins at 5.9 and 300 odd hp would run it no problem then put tipper trailer on and it still would nt know it had it.Just a thought. Chris

  20. Hi Jon,Loads on ebay ,what are you intending to go in them.If you put logs in then watch out for condensation ,better bet an ex fridge trailer box as they are fully insulated and just as strong, just a sugestion. Cheers Chris.
  21. Hi again do not stop at swapping just the brick grab get rid of the brick crane as well and put a proper timber crane on unless you use only very occaisionaly you will be pulling your hair out and cussing every moment at the lack of speed and wrong geometry for the job.If you want one for begining of winter mine might be available later in the summer. Cheers Chris.
  22. Hi sounds like you would be better off getting someone with a big splitter to make it into billets as you have a processor. You can cut out bends and trim butts up and get some nice material this way then it will fly through a processor. If you wern t so far away I would offer to do it for you, Cheers Chris
  23. I think this has been like this for some time now our guys just want to drive the lorrys in their uniforms etc.Had a chap in the early 90s was not interested in timber as he would have to load it and unload and fix hydraulic hoses etc.Said he only wanted to do fridge work on the continent as he only undid the back doors ! It seems our people have the attitude of how much can I get for as little effort as possible. Also they do not seem to have much pride in their work.Perhaps you will all put me right ,but I am just a grey haired oldtimmer!! Cheers Chris
  24. Hi steve how did you get the pictures on here .I am hopeless when it comes to I T stuff. Cheers Chris.
