  1. I wouldn't say tinker, but I know the boiler inside out and back to front and the thing isn't sat facing my in my living room when I'm watching TV when it fails 🙂. I've long thought the hetas biomass industry needs a complete start again, having met plenty of installers, they were barely above combi boiler level. It's also a complex joke to get certified, I've looked and it was just like WTF. They expect you to be a plumber/gas fitter previously, even the gas boys are staying away from doing flue installs due to the cowboys.
  2. I wrote no external air, no install
  3. Maybe actually look at what's happening, go have a look at the diversity hire fire chief. And yes, Donald is having a dumpster fire of Joe's bs later. And hopefully telling Starmer that the Brazilian loving friend of Epstein can't be ambassador.
  4. Personally I think it's mostly poor installation that cause problems, personally no external air and I don't think they should be fitted full stop, treat it like a gas boiler installation. I've a big boy 25kw DEFRA boiler, fully adjustable draught regulation etc. Which was and is tuned using a differential pressure meter I own and is also dependent on the cowl etc. I've known plenty that have tinkered and had to replace the stoves within a few years, either burnt out the inners or turned it into a cracked piece of scrap.
  5. DEI has been around for ages, it's the backwards idea that you should employ the black lesbian, instead of whoever is most qualified or experienced for the position. DEI is government backed racist/sexist and gay flag waving bias. Positive discrimination is still Discrimination, worked so well for the RAF didn't it and having to financially pay off after it was highlighted.
  6. Well they're saying that you're woke DEI (Did no Earn It) ideology is getting consigned to the dumpster fires of history. Plus, I think you're perfectly aware DEI is not equality, it's equity.
  7. Crying on the coffin of your woke ideology?.
  8. I shall do neither, do whatever you want until that hetas sweep refuses to sign off you're paperwork or you end up with a chimney fire. If you're so confident in your amazing abilities, design something better, but I'm sure the thousands spent on eco design are just for show and it's a mob style racket!. Next they'll be a long managerial post extolling how it's available in x,y,z and it's just a box.
  9. That's where your wrong, a stove that's certified to whichever scheme is supplied with them fitted as standard!. Do whatever you want, but I get the impression you need to find a new hobby in your retirement. As the installer will have installed it and taken those variables into consideration, but think we both know you fitted it.
  10. I'm aware of how they restrict them and why installers fit them. The real question is why you feel the need to butcher a perfectly working stove, just saying it's for science isn't really a reason. It's not going to improve it's efficiency by any great extent and would they would have designed it and sold it that way.
  11. I'll bite, so you bought too large a stove and are now butchering it ?.
  12. Just seems a bit odd having a slope/cut in steps on the right, obviously it could be silted up over time from a watercourse but it's all proper brickwork which indicates something a bit more important building wise.
  13. Sheep dip/wash comes to mind that can be drained down. Granted a better os map would probably be quite informative.
  14. Hunting and shooting wildlife: Overview - GOV.UK WWW.GOV.UK Open and closed season for hunting, what you can use and the wildlife you can hunt As per muddy, farmers in such area's would apply under protection of property for deer. It's pest control not stalking!.
  15. Are you asking about rabbits or deer, as yes it's perfectly legal at night. Rabbit is classed as vermin so fill yer boots legally speaking and landowners are obliged to control them, deer is more regulated depending on area. The only nighttime restriction is birds, an old law that effectively said no lamping whilst they're roosting.
  16. They are tools for a job that needs to be done. Whilst there are sections of people for example target and practical pistol types that's more a hobby, almost all others even your back garden pest shooters see them as a necessity. They're a tool, like your vans full of differing chainsaws, we just extend the distance once we get into SGC & FAC.
  17. My point is you don't have every part of your life investigated and trawled through for going fishing. Hell, even a school DBS check is £50 just to check your not disbarred and a wrongun.
  18. Really?, every amphenol connector I've seen on military equipment was soldered to within an inch of its life.
  19. Hum, fishing without a license is what a fine?. Owning or using a firearm without a license is a stay at his majesty's displeasure. Oh and for your 90 do they comb through your criminal history, life, family etc etc ?.
  20. New wire, solder and heat shrink. Avoid crimp repairs wherever possible, unless it's crimp plug/sockets on things like Deutsch connectors for lights etc. Even then I tend to solder the crimps as a arse covering exercise.
  21. Quite simply they've increased the prices, yet will no doubt be increasing them again. Plus the 100 or more no doubt for the GP letter. @AHPP shotguns and rifle are very different things. Shotgun is effectively meet the criteria of not being a nutter and security, rifle is also prove necessity with a whole host of other background checks that are on a par with security service clearances, that's a simplified explanation tho.
  22. Access Denied WWW.TELEGRAPH.CO.UK There you go, it was in the title of the article. And I have a RFD friend and even on those prices he's looking at 600+
  23. Kinda why I was asked, as that's gotta add a huge amount of numbers & money across the whole of Scotland. That and wanting to ban lead, they gave airguns a pass for now. As those promethium pellets were a bloody liability, let's litter the fields with plastic in the name of the environment.
  24. Headlines say £400, that's before any lead banning etc. Hopefully they'll extend the period but not holding my breath, hows the airgun thing work in Scotland as they're all fac aren't they ?.
