  1. I wonder if they'll have searched every sofa for baggies of hunters cocaine.
  2. That and it seems to have been very slow loading since about Christmas day, not sure if it's an update or just slow servers?.
  3. Seems simpler to just cut the fence, drop the tree, drag it backwards and then mend the fence.
  4. Having been through the agricultural, agricultural to industrial and domestic planning systems. Even under agriculture they require a pretty in-depth amount of detail, including agricultural justification reports by outside people and even environmental. I'm not saying forestry isn't easier, they'll make an example for that I can guarantee.
  5. They can contest use, as you have to prove you need it, for example agricultural wise you list what you might need to store equipment wise or I've X number of sheep etc. Saying I need 6 40ft shipping containers on 10 acres is not going to fly. As they know full well you'll next want power, water, phone. Then in a few years change of use and finally a palatial mansion and on the market it goes at 300k for a building plot.
  6. In England, permitted development approval is still required. For example a farm shed is put through on a 28 day permitted development application, the council then either say yes and it's allowed as it meets the criteria/planning policy etc or is denied. A grey area would be a shipping container but the land is still 5 hectares or more, you could argue a couple with a tent thing is legal but, c'mon 6 containers double stacked on a woodland that isn't particularly large is suspicious.
  7. Well you put in an application under permitted development. To be honest what your suggesting won't get approval, as permitted development is 5 hectares (12.3 acres) and 6 containers is taking the proverbial.
  8. It's the usual we want a fireplace here, yet not on a outside wall. Installers do as they're told to a certain degree, instead of opting for a room sealed version that adds costs as Dave down the shop says he'll install one cheaper etc. I can only say from my experience of twin wall, it does retain a bit of heat and isn't cold to the touch. Providing I've not left the bypass open during refilling then I could remove skin.
  9. It's not really a case of older having the design, it's more brute force approach to flue temperatures of 400c+ Vs less than 200c on newer models. You can't argue with the laws of thermodynamics, that and properties are now sealed tight to prevent draughts so you can't force flow out a chimney without being room sealed versions. If you crack open a window and the fire improves you know it's starved of oxygen.
  10. Is the space between the liner and the brickwork filled with vermiculite?. Just thinking it's touching the brickwork and taking all the heat away
  11. The job description was very vague for a sub 30k job which I suspect is part of the problem for a temporary 1 year job. No mention of how large an area and who's land, does the job come with 4x4, housing, tools, equipment etc. As your effectively asking for a ground based tree guy, with ecological qualifications, community liaison and ability to work with people that could also be vulnerable adults/children hence the DBS check. Forgot pesticide/herbicide trained. Wouldn't it be better to offer local farmers possibly dairyman types locally, a couple of days a week ?.

251 are single stud, had a few and they've all been single stud and think that was back in 2003
  13. Think you're both equally being arsey. Grow up, cut your overhanging stuff back and speak to him like an adult, whilst I draw the line at trespass your doing the same with the trees. If you were my neighbour you would be having the overhanging limbs cut back and fired back with the woodchipper.
  14. Don't think it works like that, larger the gap would just create a weaker spark or if electronic probably not at all. For something that's spinning at what 3000+ rpm retarding the timing will probably make absolutely zero differences probably. Plus being a two stroke it's probably even more useless as the microsecond timing is so infinitely small it's probably barely even noticeable or measurable.
  15. The gap between what the coil and the flywheel, you want fag paper close to induce a magnet field.
  16. I was hoping the cyanide would kick in
  17. This Holly smells lovely, yeap keep breathing it nice and deep as your burning it
  18. Wrong sorts of tackle tart forum.
  19. Overoptimistic might be something of an understatement. I often wonder in built up areas why they don't have a share agreement with virgin to share conduits and cabinets. As someone in the know, how does this hung fibre stand up to the environment?, as where I am they just don't seem bothered about burying a new trunk line and saving the cost of poles.
  20. Without going into a debate about line speeds etc. It's not about line speeds but the network behind it, old days copper went from your house to the exchange where it connected to the ISP. Now it's to the end of your road and they can sell off the exchange building as it's a fibre node network structure. Think mobile phone masts talking with each other in a game of pass the data parcels. I was building electronics back in the early days of BT 21CN equipment, by 2007 BT were having a fire sale on building as it emptied 80% of the copper cables from an exchange.
  21. I've never understood why Stihl are happy for spares sites to display the spares drawings. Instead of just having them fully available direct from Stihl, as I find my dealer likes me walking in and asking for x,y,x or buying online. They still get the order.

  24. Plus remember you'll only get full speed on new equipment or via ethernet. Almost all older WiFi stuff is physically limited to 54mb tho. Whilst a faster connection will allow more people to use it simultaneously, it's more aimed at streaming TV & online games.
