  1. And do you think plastic bank notes Carney will do anything better then Castro Trudeau before they all get kicked out for Pierre?. Historically there wasn't a need for a massive border between Canada and the USA, there's a town that straddles it. Probably due to Trudeau letting in massive numbers from India and elsewhere and the houses being almost impossible to buy as a result they have just walked over.
  2. Go have a look at how digital tax works for those companies, it makes IKEA look simple. Effectively they pay on profits and use trademark and fees to pretty much achieve zero tax.
  3. Personally I just see it as a government backed Ponzi scheme to close old industrial estates, convert to apartment housing and build new industrial estates on new land. That's what they're trying to achieve with united and Trafford park. Plus with energy prices, the only industry that will thrive is digital, actual engineering is space and energy intensive. Digital might be good money but that's more flash in the pan profits short-term.
  4. Why not ask Microsoft, Google and others how they use their sweetheart tax arrangement with Ireland. Plus seeing that most things are actually hosted on Google/Amazon AWS were probably was past that point of debate as it's all in the cloud and not physical media for decades.
  5. Do you know John Deere made like 10% of it's profit from software fees.
  6. Because certain industries will never be USA manufacturered, mostly because it's a cottage industry specialism that even when you buy the company it can't be moved. The UK is pretty open, the EU are a protectionist block. What was it tanks the other year, we were forced to build them using Spanish steel even though they were being built in Wales.
  7. What it will do is make them rethink their plans. Other companies say Kubota are already overtaking them and building more in the USA. As right to repair has turned a lot of customers away from Deere.
  8. I'm guessing you've not worked in the defence sector as it's an industry that forbids outsourced manufacturing to non NATO countries on national security grounds. The UK is renowned for it's defence manufacturers, we make a LOT from fighterjets/radios/sonar/submarines/electronics and missiles etc. We also were the only place they could buy a certain plastic explosive from Tiverton or wherever in the west country for many years
  9. Don't think they'll have much impact negatively on the UK. We're a key strategic partner especially as most of the US air force is built here via BAE for example. If you want to argue food, well yes unless it's the same standard. The EU however is very protectionist yet want to milk the USA for defense, same with Canada, put in more % and Donald will say fair enough as wasn't it like 75% of NATO funding?.
  10. What a load of utterly disjointed crock. Do you really think manufacturing abroad benefits the people in the American factories?. Trump putting a tariff of a cheaply made product makes it more expensive than manufacturing at home, so manufacturers like deere/ford etc will return manufacturing to the factories they closed down to save a few bucks.
  11. And why not look at why he had a barney with Mexico, most vehicles are now made there most big agri machinery and plant moved there under Joe. John Deere closed like half a USA factory last month, so I can't blame him to want American companies back ?.
  12. You say that, but a lot of our industry land rover for example relocated not due to the wages but due to the EU funding. They had a massive fund, effectively paid for a brand new factory to be setup and moved at practically zero cost. Land rover, Cadbury and a long list of others used it.
  13. Maybe they're the same people who work part time in the M25 roadworks?
  14. Malmö was a perfect example, it's not because of urbanisation. It's because a lot of unsavoury types moved in around the war in Bosnia, same with most towns around Stockholm. Knife violence wasn't a thing here until the 90s, back then we still had the crays and such, with petty crime being just low stuff. Explain acid attacks then, without migrants.
  15. Why not also end that birthright like Donald. Unless you're a citizen no passport, the old dog born in a stable doesn't make it a horse argument.
  16. One has to wonder the logic, so Brexit =more migrants. So if that is true why isn't Italy, France, Spain and all the other EU countries deporting them back home once they are within their borders?. Logically if you find a migrants you arrest and deport, not let them head to Dover and spend 10k on a dingy to the land of milk and honey. Or closer to your home, go have a walk around Malmö and ask yourself if you felt safe.
  17. AA family cover was 230, granted NFU threw breakdown in as part of the truck insurance. Not sure about larger vehicles prices such as your passion waggon 🙂
  18. Blair was pretty much the sea change moment politically speaking, thatcher & Kinnock were much like Reagan. Of their time, more old school if you will and all three remembered the war. Blair was the start of new wave politics and ushered in the whole sofa meeting bs.
  19. We've argued this before, politics became these shades of grey around the time of tony. Before tony, politicians generally worked their way through business or in the labour party up through the unions stooges. Which gave them more a hard nosed reality of life, now most politicians college/uni/advisor so no real experience of say 3 jobs and studying etc. Trump and co, are yes dirty but earned their business spurs, you can argue the morals but you get the idea. Give him a chance, as our reality is depressing in the UK.
  20. So in that prat Vince going to stop funding the labour party or was that just to make his divorce cheaper ?
  21. I think we all know I'm somewhere in the middle and pragmatic, personally I think he'll reset a lot of the stuff that's happened over the last 30 years and return things to common sense. All this loony he's going to burn the world is codswallop, bring manufacturing back and it's made better and with less environmental issues isn't that what you'd prefer ?. Build it here within our rules and regs or china where the rules are/what rules and what's copyright hahaha.
  22. If you want to really depress yourself about the stupidity of people, look at why IQ tests were invented and why its illegal for a USA citizen with an IQ below 83 to join the army. Discourse and discussion is fine, it's just the constant oh he's a bad man from some sides that gets irritating, the world can't operate on a he without sin casts the first stone. I've used the analogy before, it's always a choice between a douche and a turd sandwich.
  23. By your same criteria, 90% of western governments are more or less melted into the brick wall. And why did that feel like reading a meaningless political commentary, you know the ones that never seem to get election result guesses correct. Where's that South park huffing on your own farts meme.
  24. Everything is fine for a log burner as long as it's seasoned. Huffing and smoking your own meat are probably best avoided on arb arisings.
