  1. I'll bite, everything is better with lubrication. But real men use spit or nothing!. And none of this dihydrogen monoxide stuff, people drown everyday you know!.
  2. Short answer yes, as the debt is against the company and not a specific person. How much are we talking?, Small claims court is the cheapest option after a snotty letter.
  3. It's been a while since I've done it, but if you sand a longer taper over say 1" you can slowly work you way upto the full diameter. It's going to be a pain regardless, I'd just find a local machine shop and they'll do it for a tenner if you're nice and pay cash.
  4. I was using it as an example. By the same token, you can argue why a 60k Merc or Tesla can be insured for the same as a Corsa, regardless of the driver it all comes out of the same pot if it's totalled.
  5. Whilst as an industry you could stand up and create your own and be cheaper Even the NFU business insurance use an outside company as an underwriter and they are huge, it seems unlikely that there would be enough interest and traction. We all moan about the cost and if you rarely ever claim it's understandable, but on the other side when someone drops a tree through the roof of a house in Knightsbridge you kinda see the need.
  6. Best to wait until it's piled up and tidy. Plus it all depends on how they have to cut it up to move, the thicker the trunk the smaller the rings Vs weight etc
  7. I'll be nice, no-one is going to do it for free 🙂.
  8. It wouldn't be Johnny's, as pre durex they were mostly of the reusable kind. And no I don't mean turn inside out and pass it around!.
  9. Just don't spend stuff on things you're rarely ever going to use, farming makes the BOAT acronym look tame. As once you've got the toys you'll then need a shed and the ball keeps rolling, I'm not saying don't, just use common sense and only buy what you can afford outright. Your first loss is the largest mentality, in my mind I own outright everything and if it failed I can afford to repair or replace it without going into debt.
  10. 1. When you find yourself in a hole, stop digging!. 2. Always listen to a quiet man. In other words, cut down on the civil service style waffle. Be a man and say you were being a tit and we're more likely to cut you a little slack and move on.
  11. 20-25k would be a fair estimate for anything with modern creature comforts like a cab and windows, yes I've done freezing in old school tractors, but as I've said treat it as slowly slowly and work your way up. I own 22 but farm around 45, slowly returning it back to livestock grazing but fencing isn't cheap either. Granted if it's just topping a old mf165 and topper wouldn't be hard to find
  12. That's why I said I'd want a legal agreement absolving the them and any future people of any claims.
  13. Mavis that troll at number 32 has been saying horrible things about my net curtains.
  14. Just imagine if that was a citizen advice reply the world would be a simpler place
  15. Just as long as it's not one of those Dutch reverse pedal bikes, you'd be over the handlebars
  16. So you're now going to have a semantic arguement about your levels of bitching about skylands and whether or not it crosses the line of slander?. We've all offered simple solutions to which you've kept on quoting consumer rights, if you were my customer I'd have refused and refunded. All whilst you're using varying font sizes, which in internet speak is normal talking, to slightly larger shouting to cut and paste yelling like a crazy person?.
  17. Next you'll be suggesting we set up a country just for one particular religion. I suggest the isle of man, tax evasion and religious extremism. Roll on next year's isle of man TnT
  18. Whilst I'm no expert on the subject, would you need a strap on for every new partner?. One assumes they're dishwasher safe but you wouldn't share a toothbrush!
  19. Or be an adult, ring them and ask to pay for a timed delivery with royal mail. Instead of trying to slander and annoy what appears to be a bunch of customers who have slightly realistic expectations of a courier service.
  20. You can quote consumer law etc etc until your blue in the face. The seller does however have the full right to NOT sell tho whomever they choose!.
  21. I sense a expensive and protracted legal case regardless of if there is proof or not. I would be inclined to speak to a expert on the legal matters, but I would also ask them to ensure in the event of having to remove the tree that an agreement stating they can't claim anything in the future from you/the house owner or insurance.
  22. We've all seen the inflatables "toys", but one has to wonder what they put on the customs paperwork. 100 inflatable sheep are surely going to raise a few questions, like battery neck stress relievers and bottom inserted soiling protectors.
  23. Whilst I would agree on the wildflowers, generally speaking if your grazing it and not doing silage that shouldn't be a problem. The trees in my mind are a big no, as your also knocking 75% off the land value and if you take any grant your not able to do anything in the future. Start small and find a market that suits, be that sheep/horses etc. Just don't expect to be rich or full time employment.
  24. As a farmer, I would recommend you pay contractors for the first few years and decide what equipment you need using them as an example. If you can have sheep grazing, definitely take advantage of free mowing atleast let neighbors make hay. Start small and build upwards, but you'll probably need a 80hp tractor for rough mowing, anything smaller and you'll have trouble running anything like hedge cutters. I should also say make sure you have insurance for a small holding.
  25. This at the very least a rapid route to watering plants with Brawndo. I'll admit to having a glass is half empty, with the glass smashed on the floor view of the world. On the one hand I'm rarely surprised by stupidity, but atleast I can be surprised if things turn out better.
