  1. Everyone will be going VOIP soon enough, getting rid of the dial tone allows them to gain a lot of internet speed and probably means less infrastructure like old style exchanges. BT are rumoured to be standarding the products as they own EE & Plus Net. I've stuck with sky, but waiting to see how the streaming stuff like Now TV and all the others works out.
  2. Knowing BT, the price. Sky fibre isn't too bad, but the TV is a lot of crud. But they include Nextflix and watch that more than Sky.

Tractors just have a one speed pump older tractors were around 140bar, power packs around 240+ as they are built to run hydraulic pumps so you can afford to swap to a larger pump as 2000 psi is 140bar. Two stage pumps are more aimed at petrol due to the screaming rpm, if your running a diesel at 40lpm 1/2" lines are fine. It all starts to become a rabbit hole of calculations etc, been there including all the engine calculations. I use a hatz 1D81C 667cc diesel, 14cc pump so around 30lpm at 140 bar, it runs around 2300 rpm. Whilst I'd love to buy an upgrade 40lpm powerpack that might be something for next year, swap the pump and it'd be well over 60lpm. (40lpm @ 240 bar = 20cc X 2300 / 60lpm @ 160 bar = 27cc X 2300) I can run mine on a gallon a day, slow and steady and no hearing protection, I can even hear my phone ringing!.
  4. Looking at your original tractor you'll want around 45lpm. A belle diesel would be around 20lpm. Something larger like a diesel power pack 40lpm. Whilst you'll have to spend say 2.5k, it's self contained, simple and not much larger than the splitter. I use a hatz hydraulic pack, swapped the 240bar pump and got more flow at 160bar.
  5. Disconnect the oil sensor and see if it sparks. The engine is just the power source, all the complicated stuff like the feed controls and safety stuff controls the hydraulics feed. Think of it as a glorified lawnmower and just follow the wiring.
  6. I did it on a Leyland for a while, personally I'd get a small diesel hydraulic power pack and keep the old beasty tucked up in the shed. There's a belle diesel on eBay for 400
  7. Are you sure the oil level switch is ok ?. As that would ground the spark plugs. What model honda or Briggs engine ?
  8. Not exactly true, if it doesn't meet regs they can report them to the local council. Which they have admitted to not having a install certificate making it illegal. Which also nulls the home insurance and makes them liable if the place and adjoining property gets damaged. And if they are in a smoke control area, that would be a possible £1k fine every time it smokes and having to rip out a non compliant appliance.
  9. As with everything start simple. Check fuel is getting from the tank to the carburettor, take the hose off if there is a tap or something upstream and make sure it flows If it is, clean the carburettor. Solenoid shutoff might have a problem internally or elsewhere, best to ohm meter and see if the switch circuit opens and closes. Guessing it's a GX630, they do also have a low oil level cut off which would prevent it firing up.
  10. Or possibly the solenoid valve is blocked. If it runs when spraying something flammable into the air intake it limits your search for the problem

  12. Same size as the outlet or larger, you can't go smaller. But get someone registered to sort it, it's not worth the aggravation with building control and or dying.
  13. It's probably better for the environment just burning plain old diesel, you take veg oil and process it. Sounds like a tarted up way of saying we take recycled chip shop oil and make bio diesel. Bit like when they banned garages burning waste motor oil to heat the place, forcing them to o pay to recycle it and fit gas heaters.

  17. Probably going to be a new flue if they can't find a certificate, if it's anything like electrics. You start playing with an installation, you're responsible/liable for the whole job.

  19. You have to love the reporting, on suspicion of scaling the tower!. I know it's legalese but you're honour I was framed!.
  20. All depends on the boiler size, old school was 50l per kw and choose the closest larger tank. Mines 1500 on a 25kw, definitely a lot of work. But if you're house is pretty modern it would be a lot easier than my draughty barn of a farmhouse. If anyone says it doesn't need one, find a different installer.

That's not me trying to dissuade you, just the reality of big stand alone boilers and the necessary pipework and tanks required to take advantage of that heat as whilst they can throttle up and down you want to store everything and drip feed it out as required. They do have the benefit of being able to heat a house, as a back boiler setup is obviously limited in heat output to a few kw.
  24. I had a similar thing last month on a 261, broke off the oiler arm, needed a new clutch drum & needle bearing as well. Needed the dealer to remove the clutch tho as it was far too tight for me to remove but all in about £60 including parts and labour.
