  1. I call bs about the negotiation, the RCN have gone political. If they stuck to a simple solution like I said they might have had to strike but it would be a easy to defend and easy to get the public on side. If your on 50k before the extras, nope sorry jog on.
  2. Well the union needs to pull it's fingers out and actually stick to a coherent argument, if I was the government and they wanted 19% for everyone, I'd tell them to sling their hook aswell. Hell, even 10% for everyone is ridiculous.
  3. And don't forget the NHS pensions, public service workers get a bloody good pension Vs the private sector. Private sector might get more pay but get shafted on pensions now.
  4. But you can't give all bands a pay rise tho, which is what they are demanding!. If the union said 1-4 get a raise that's fine, but grade 5 is upto 33k before any overtime and antisocial extras.
  5. Maybe saying "Man" up would be going too far ?.
  6. It's not just management that needs a clear out, it's also the locum and temporary staff bs. Was it 5k a day in a paper the other day ?. Same with a return to central purchasing, bulk buying none of this charging different people different rates. They have enough money, but fail to use it wisely.
  7. The more I hear about things the less supportive I become, as the strikers also include office staff who get the same pay grades as nurses. It's not because I feel those at the bottom end don't deserve a pay rise because they definitely do, but the spokespersons for the unions get very conflated on the reasons and the solutions.
  8. Think it's a bit like the railway stuff, yes but it's got to start at the very bottom of the scales. That list doesn't include the antisocial or overtime payments. I was trying to not throw the grenade in to start the discussion.
  9. Pay scales for 2022/23 WWW.NHSEMPLOYERS.ORG NHS terms and conditions annual, hourly and HCAS pay values scales for 2022/23
  10. Whilst I do feed the birds sunflowers and peanuts, I probably get an equal amount feasting off the bugs on the woodchip pile. Robins in particular seem drawn to bug hunting around the chopping pile.
  11. Is this a follow on position to the DNR crap, we are advertising for a position using an extensive range of pillows to treat patients ?.
  12. So down the pub you can say my arse is so big it's on Google earth!. Roll out the your mum's... Jokes.
  13. On the plus side atleast he didn't do it on armistice Day, remembering fallen comrades and all.
  14. Average barrow bag is 45x45x90
  15. They talk about a bullet with your name on it but really!
  16. Have you actually seen the picture of the 88yr old, hum it was a WW2 artillery shell!
  17. That and laser engraving the details on both sides instead of silk screening.
  18. He said he'd replaced the bar and everything bar the engine by the sounds of it
  19. Talking about cats, you might have a point. Anyone noticed people cats over the last 5ish years aren't living as long, could be luck of the draw and over breeding. But 5-8 years isn't long, when most have mine averaged 18 ?.
  20. Other than sharpening, does the chain roll freely. If it's hard to roll it's probably a worn crank shaft, had to retire my favourite old work horse of a saw recently at 8 years of firewood processing.
  21. This is going to appear as a tetrapak slogan. Making plastics "I'm free" since 1960. Plus with the recent making milk cartons and lemonade bottles full recyclable took what 30years!.
  22. Fun tubes sounds a little nicer
  23. I presume it's about microplastics getting into the bloodstream causing damage to reproduction.
  24. Never a fishermans fish wife tho!
  25. I've eaten out to help out the occasional fishermens girlfriend 🙂
