    Which Sthil

And so are you, no problem! There wouldn't be much fun on these forums if everyone agreed on everything.

    Which Sthil

Nothing like fantastic at all, but decent for being an Echo - and of course a lot heavier.

    Which Sthil

The actual length of those small mount Stihl bars are 13", 15" and 16".

    Which Sthil

None obviously - but maybe a Stihl.
  5. The MS261 is a pro saw, and the 291 is a "homeowner" quality saw, with a plastic case and a clamshell engine + more changes to keep the price down.
  6. Thanks for the added info! Of course the actual max rpm at any given moment will vary a bit with how the carb tunes itself, based on the latest use and conditions.
  7. That varied, at least between different markets - but maybe with other factors as well. He need to determine which drive sprocket he has, and if it needs replacement. A 3/8" one will be 6-pin and a .325 usually 7-pin - and nothing else makes any sense.
  8. Sounds like a good plan!
  9. My choise in that class was the NE339xp in that class, back in 2007 - as it felt better in the hands than the MS200, and is a little stronger. The MS201 wouldn't even have been considered, based on what I know about them.
  10. At least the older one must have been a MS200. The MS201 isn't as good.
  11. As far as I know, Stihl has been and is using a lot of Zama carbs, and I don't think we will see less of it in the future, rather more of it?
  12. Yep, I don't think it was a good Idea to leave the design of a new kind of carb to Zama. I assume you know who currently owns Zama, not that I will suggest that has anything to do with it....
  13. The evidense I have seen so far tells that it always is the carb that is faulty, not the AT, at least with the Husky AT saws.
  14. The 365XT is basically the same saw as the 372xpXT, and 70.7cc. However it has restictors in the transfers, to reduce the power output. I understand it takes about halv an hour to remove the restrictors, if you know how to do it, and have the right equipment. Then it will perform like a 372xpXT. The earlier 365s were 65cc saws, some open port, and some closed port quads.

    Echo cs620

Still a bit heavy for the cc, and lacking a little power, compared to the best saws in the 60cc class - but surely a change to the better for Echo
  16. I am sure it is, those saws are seriously "plugged up" at both ends, as they come from the factory. The 19mm+ venturi of the RWJ-4 vs. 17.5mm surely helps, and those saws are prime candidates for it.
  17. Yes, everything that has to do with power output is exactly the same.
  18. 4.7 hp(i)/4.8 hp(m)/ps.
  19. Yes, but there really are no reason to do it - 3/8" suits those saws very well. Actually, the first thing I did with my 560xp was to change the setup to 3/8". Later I bought the standard 7-spline drum, to be able to use 3/8x8 (with short bars, 16"). The real differenses between the 560xp and 562xp is that the 562 has the large bar mount and a higher air filter/cover + some added weight as a result. Many Americans I know from the US saw forums say they would have preferred the 560 over the 562, if they had the choise.
  20. There are different generations of 254s out there, and the last generation, made from 1994 an on, are the most attractive ones (different starter side, slightly higher power rating, and air injection).
  21. Thar's a great saw, definately worth fixing if in generally good condition!
  22. Bulky, heavy and an inboard clutch - no thanks! OK, it depends on what the alternatives are of course, but the 560xp obviously are a much better choise.
  23. OK, I guess my memory was a little off then.
  24. The 346xpg is my favourite saw for most of my cutting, but I always use chisel chain on it (LP/LPX or RS/RSC). The MS250 is a cheaply made "homeowner" saw, and at best a bad joke in comparison - but it is of course lighter, if it is one without to many "add-ons".....
  25. My memory is telling me 14k rpm?
