Cedar of Leb from Deb off AT

recently milled for furniture maker 96" long x 34"QG mid point, cut into 16mm T&T boards until I simply had to SE it into 35" wide boards.......I timed myself when cutting a full width board...33secs to make the pass....it may be old , but the Autotrek is the dogs nuts!
  2. gladly quote for a cutting list...... prices vary according to length /dimensions, but thanks for your interest, Tim
  3. my two pence worth... 3/4" is a bit big, I use 16mm, I know its only 3mm smaller but its a safer size when worrying about surface checks or in the worse case scenario mild case hardening, where the surface dries thereby preventing boards interior moisture to be effectively sealed in, caused by too rapid initial dry, caused by too much air movement , and the sticks@ the end of the boards should be within 2" as it helps to prevent end splitting, and as BJ mentioned, wt them down, having inverted the top sawn board which will help with the cupping issue and if possible cover with something non metallic.
  4. or else, just hire a mobile milling service............
  5. Have cut some in the past for the late Bob Brett@ North Heigham sawmills, Norwich, cut it wet and then wrap the small sticked stack in cling film or else you will end up with black matchsticks..... ,dry it as slowly as possible, then as ever charge whatever you can get for it, but much more than normal oak, from memory at least 2x.
  6. nice video, but a lot of material handling...I am with Jon on this one, quarter the entire log, cant quarter @ 45* against squaring arms, then just T&T it, this does however leave one board edge @45*, this will be the heart edge, which can be squared off to maximise useable timber if really bothered by it.
  7. mid £50's upwards, depending on grade.
  8. heavy, will warp in all sorts of ways unless really carefully sticked and weighted, mills in a manner more similar to turkey oak than sessile etc, not a favourite of mine, but can yield spectacular boards with the rays....should imagine it would be slow going with a chain mill.

  13. sounds like my old 153 dolmars..... that's why I would like to buy a new one....and then I can use my 36"GB bar again( or not as the case may be...) I will resend pm
  14. 2.2..... not sure the 3.0lt fits, but I think I might check that.... as have been quoted a "smelling salts, WTF" price for replacement, BTW did you get my PM about the 7910?
  15. REALLY do not agree about Saab's high maintenance, have put 140000 miles( currently showing 166k) on our 95 tid vector estate over 7/12 years and the clutch is now showing signs that the DMF is going, some front discs, some bushes front and rear for last mot, and one set of electric window rollers is about all I can remember doing ,other than front tyres every 20k, still can get mid 40's mpg and its done in one of the most comfortable seats ever made.....
  16. personally, bubinga would be my first call, but I have never seen it with the yellows in it, if its paduak, it would be the andeman, not, African, but then it would have a very distinctive sweet smell when being worked, and I am pretty sure it would not sink in water. Just my 2p's worth..........
  17. I may be stating the obvious, but I would not want to put green oak over/through a steel bedded planer..... not unless you want the surface to turn black, no worries about aluminium beds tho.
  18. I'm selling 30mm & 19mm fresh sawn stock T&T for £11ish ,but that's if you have about 100ft3.
