3. delivered 3 cube bags into Edinburgh today £120 a bag, would like to see the £60 a bag guys try for £120 you can afford to lose 50% of your customers remember.
4. on the 3200 I usually get a season to a blade so 250 to 400 tons, the blade I have on at the moment didn't even manage 20 ton hit a pocket of gravel in a hollow and broke 3 teeth and chipped a few more.
5. why waste time with firewood if the sawmilling is taking off big style, it's not exactly great money.
6. We priced shipping south few years ago and was going to work out around £800 a load think it was to Kent, back loads obviously cheaper.
7. we found that bags stored under tarps even with good airflow will go from 14% back to 22% with a surface reading by November but bags in polytunnel remain around 15% 16%.

13. had some come in on an artic looked similar was told it was a mix of yew, cypress and sequoia
14. I never said bad karma I said Karma for your next business, and I have answered pretty much everything I have to say on this I'm not going to keep rehashing over and over as different people jump in wanting 30 posts of the same answers.
15. if you look back my posts you will find very little swearing this person niggled me at the wrong time which is why I posted what I did although I stand by what I said, on a normal day I would have moved on and ignored or come back at a later date to comment on it but I could say that would be a wrong decision also as this seems to be an issue bothering more than a few people it's more like a boil that needs lancing.
16. and they wouldn't be supporting a site promoting how to get undercut with not only where to source cheap timber but we will arrange the haulage too or similar relevant info to their business. while this particular person doesn't impact me who knows who's reading this and how many members have posted it's no longer viable for them to do logs because of lack of demand/price it's not difficult to see why this thread is a problem to a log merchant.
17.
thanks had other messages about how things going downhill with this behaviour.

18. how about instead of comparing repairing your own equipment they start posting to your customers how to get the work done for free or 50% cheaper than you are charging, will you still have the live and let live attitude. as I said earlier when it comes to tree surgery being undercut there is plenty to be said about those doing it on this forum.
19. it's not possible to name them as could be construed as insulting and worth more infraction points but if you want to read some of the old posts you can find numerous cases of people being insulted and differing degrees of bad language.
20. no it's not, you clearly don't see it but you have formed or let form a small clique which get away with comments the rest of us don't
21. I have no objection to sharing information on processing maintenace etc but a feed designed to put people out of business it may be 1 person posting but how many reading it, logs have been very hard for several years now and this feed can only make it harder.
22. yes I know but the price you posted was less than buying a cube of cord at roadside you priced in labour diesel insurance etc but not for the cord to process £50 £60 per ton + the vat which is about 1.5m3 before you can even start to produce logs if it's to be a viable business.
23. read it it's not just for swearing, you may wish to give these people authority over your thinking I don't, rap my knuckles hardly I'm not in school and they are not my teachers or parents. you want to defend these trolls that fine I have had pm of support on my comments too not everyone wants to open themselves up to abuse by posting on the forum. the person I insulted does it all the time but he donates so can't ban him Dear Logsnstuff, You have received an infraction at Arbtalk.co.uk | Discussion Forum for Arborists. 24. you worry about newcomers how about those veterans who no longer post, always believed it was a trade forum for the benefit of businesses not for the public to end run around merchants and other trades that's what's going to kill your forum, who's going to provide any info that kills off their trade.
