  1. I'm looking to buy an Amr Vmr 16 logsplitter, anybody got or used one? What are they like for firewood production (billets) Cheers

  3. As a fellow installer totally agree with Alycidon, Poujoulat all the way I've fit load of different make in the past deffo the best!

  5. The problem in London is 70% of wood burnt is on open fires!
  6. If it's a Defra stove you can burn logs! That's the whole point of a Defra stove, Firefox 5 is non Defra, Firefox 5 Cleanburn is Defra, which one is it?
  7. I've got a 40 ft shipping container and I'm looking to make a kiln, reason for moving onto a kiln is that the shed I currently have I've got to take down due planning permission! I've seen some posts about making kilns from 20's, but wondered what the best set up for a 40 would be What's best to insulate? The container will be powered from a generator what size do I need How many heaters and what type, also what extractors? Cheers all.

  10. There are loads of great stoves out there and loads of rubbish, the difference between apart from build quality is CONTROLABILITY! That's what scents them apart, As an installer the best I recommend and install the most are Esse Dunsley Jetmaster Burley Acr Morso All great stoves
  11. It's a Cleanburn lovenholm made by Hunter, not the most efficient stove on the market, controlibility will be an issue.

  16. It seemed to work for me, creating a hotter fire quicker! the kindling burnt first getting very hot with no logs to dampen it down on top.

  19. All serial numbers present the saws have not been used in three years and stored in his garage, I believe it because the chain on the 200t was ceased solid. Was 2010 the last year for the 200t?
  20. It's a case of not having a clue! Also picked up a tidy ms460 2007 £300.
  21. Just picked up a 200t in mint condition 2010 perfect runner paid £160 is it a bargain?
  22. It's down to the stove some stoves have ducts where you can vent some of the heat direct from the stove to other rooms.
  23. I've installed two twin wall chimney systems this week same problem! This is due to negative pressure in the chimney with it being external the flue is cold, this causes the stove to smoke back as others have already said in this thread! The key is finding what works best for you blow torch,tealights work but what a faff! Normal paper I find still produces some smoke, so I use about 10 sheets of kitchen roll lightly scrunched up, this gives a good bast of heat to shift the cold air, then your away.
