  1. Sorry to hear you got gear stolen again. What can the police do though? You have no real informaion for them, even with a decent description of the perpetrator it would be tough to track him down. Maybe if you had managed to get a license plate off the van then they would have been able to act. It must be tough for them to do anything if their is no actionable information to work on. Sounds like an opportunist who happened to be passing, so probably someone local. Keep an eye on the local second hand shops, cash converors etc as it might turn up. Don't you need an incident number to put in the claim wih your insurance? Best form of security in my opinion is decent insurance.
  2. That is beautiful
  3. lovely especially like the curves on the duck.
  4. It is. I suppose it is pretty significant that the tree was the lone survivor of such a tragedy and now the memorial will stand for prosperity and hope. Biggest tree sculpture I've ever seen.
  5. Japan erects massive sculpture of the last standing tree from a forest destroyed by the 2011 tsunami. The Japanese have chosen to remember the miracle 88ft pine tree that survived the tsunami by building this memorial sculpture. The towering 88-foot tall pine tree was the last standing among a forest of 70,000 trees that were completely wiped out along the coast in Rikuzentakata, Iwate prefecture. The tree survived for nearly 18 months after the tsunami but eventually died due to high levels of saline introduced into its environment, after which is was felled and giant molds were created to again form the trunk and branches as they stood when the tree was alive. The monument is set to be unveiled this week. (Original article here) I wonder how long it will stand for. Perhaps just re planting a new forest would have been a better memorial than this.
  6. lovely wee edit man. very much enjoyed watching it
  7. Ah. My bad I mis read your post. For what it's worth I tend to wear either Paramo cargo trousers in the long leg or Craghoppers Kiwi cargos most of the time. Both pretty hard wearing and can usually find them on sale somewhere for around £20/£30 quid. Never tried any of the Arborwear stuff though so can't make a comparison.
  8. Nice editing. I liked the sense of drama and intensity the music gave it. I like the Blue Trees finish scene with the name everywhere, leaves you with the company name as a very clear final thought. My feedback; Some build up clips, short ones, showing machinery set up and perhaps firing up the saw would be good. Close up arty shot of the beginning of a cut or similar, before scaling out to the full size of the tree/job. Perhaps you could cut to a clip of working in a more natural setting after the 'An Ancient Culture' comment rather than the urban one. Also as you mention, having more clips showing a wider variety of jobs would let you show off more skills and make the clip watch a little less repetetively. I think it's a great first edit though and don't mean to put you down at all but you ask for feedback and that be my 2p worth.
