  1. That tortoise is lovely. Make a great wee footstool in front of the hearth
  2. I was reading about this the other day and the answer really seems to be experience. Just because you get your cs30/31 and cs38/39 doesn't mean you have the ability to compare yourself to people who have 5/10yrs + of experience in the industry and perhaps no tickets at all. As far as I understand it, you don't actually 'need' any quals to go out and start a business and call yourself a tree surgeon.
  3. No such thing as bad weather just wrong clothing. If you haven't got anything good to say then don't say anything. Do I look like I wis born yesterday ya wee sh*te!
  4. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLFlW3UaQuU]Beastie Boys - Flute Loop - YouTube[/ame] Beastie Boys - Flute Loop Stumbled across this when the ipod was on shuffle earlier. Haven't heard it in ages and love the intro
  5. Muchos gracias senor Will get them ordered, makes such a difference having something you can move around comfortably in and they look like just the ticket. A decent breathable fabric will be nice too.
  6. Sorting out my PPE at the moment and went out to get trousers today. Went into a few local places and nothing fitted lengthwise. Am 6ft 6", 38" waist, inside leg of 35/36" and got big thighs from cycling, last thing I want is something that doesn't comfortably cover my ankles when I bend my knees etc and everything I tried on today was too tight in the thighs and ankle swingingly short:thumbdown: Nothing was even close to fitting well. Anyone of a similar longleggedness got any reccomendations? Don't mind ordering online if someone points me in the right direction. Thank you
  7. I've decided to start watching what I eat. So I'm off down the races
  8. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9XwFecNXyU]Jake Bugg - Two Fingers[/ame] Been enjoying Jake Bugg since I got the album a few weeks ago.
  9. Just read your thread and it is full of such inspirational posts. I like your get up and go attitude and as a complete new guy to the Arb scene I have taken a lot of positives about the industry from what you write. It seems a great environment for people who are self motivated and have a genuine interest in nature and our woodlands. Any thoughts I had of tree surgeons being a group of adrenalin fuelled heavy handed hackers:sneaky2: have been dispelled and replaced with thoughts that you lot are a thoughtful and interesting group with an eye for the natural ways of the ancient woodlands. I look forward to continuing my learning and developing my skills to be a part of the community.
  10. Cloud storage is good because a lot of people keep their backups in the same location and if there is a fire or similar then you lose both. I suppose you could keep a external hd in a secondary location to avoid that, although would be hassle. I'd go for an Apple mac if I wanted a desktop but maybe it would be surplus to your requirements for basic business use. With a desktop you do still get more for your money than a laptop but only just. I think desktops will soon become obselete with the ease of access to cloud storage and cheap external harddrives.
  11. Hello. Great forum, a vast array of information to sift through so I'll be lurking around for a while whilst I get up to speed
