for agricultural work phone machinery ring, they will give you rates for farm work,but remember to allow for plenty fuel.i know a lot of farmers who already own there kit and can only make profit if they are working 15 hour days,

i have a john deere mulching mower.bought from local auction.ex council.think it was £80 has Kawasaki engine which can be slow to start if left for a few months.but once its going its ace.it will go up any slope .even pulls you up.and not bad on fuel for a bigger mower.

Hi there just looking for some advice.just done a deal on a transit van with cherry picker fitted.old beast.1993 but good enough condition for age.it has no mot or tax but only needing it for personal use at the moment.painting outside my new house gutters etc.but i noticed lots on the net are mot exempt.is this normal or just bigger ones.and i have a new licence plus trailer test.not fussed about loller tests .but wondered if it would be worth puting back on the road in the future.if not just keep as a toy.thanks Stuart

yea its not a grab but im sure this would be a handy peice of kit,looks verry expensive new,its been for sale for a couple of months so must have big reserve.

hi we are having a clear out of store at the moment and have started listing on ebay loads of new old stock oregon rim spockets, might be of interest to some with older saws, mostly 70s 80s saws, got over 100 selling cheap to make some space, my ebay name is stuartgordonltd if interested have a look, thanks stuart:biggrin:

yea he is a realy nice guy,he still also has a water powered saw mill, and his son told me he offered to load on some big oak with his digger, but he refused and uses bars and rollers to get on to the table,just a shame that it is no longer viable for anyone to make a proper living out of these old mills,a trust may be taking it on but if more than one person is working in the mill at the same time they are classed as an employee, and insurance wont cover as to dangerous with open belts etc, but a bit dangerous for someone working on there own, as there is no off switch:001_huh: so its catch 22,

i made one for father in laws christmas, from a hgv hubcap to put in his garage, had to walk about 2 miles along the dual caridge way to retrieve,i will try and get a photo,

just plain strait boards not feathered,mostly between 14-18 inch diameter, not to many knots as out of planted wood,someone told me if they are grown to fast they might not be as waterproof as older trees,yea i need to work out if i have enough to do whole job,or not worth the hasle,thanks for advice,also trees have been cut and stacked for around a year if i mill and stack boards how long would they need before i could fit them roughly, cheers

looking for some help i am building a new house at the moment and planners have asked for larch cladding on half the outside of the house, painted grey,there are a few houses in scheme and others look ok once finnished,i am dooing self build so have limited funds, i have managed to get 40 japenese larch trees for fire wood but before i chop them up would they be any use to use as cladding,if so are there any thing to look at rings etc to give me rough idea or not, ni can get mobile sawmiller no problem but would need to plane, is it worth the hassle or not,i already have the wood, any advice tips gratefull..thanks stuart:001_cool:

i stay in aberdeen so not sure how many charges it would take to get down south:laugh1:, if you need batterys i sourced ex back up,deep cell batterys,1 year old only been on trickle charge in a hospital back up bank,around a third of the new price,have you got all the bit sorted out on your truck ?

hi i have just bought a similar truck,its called a cushman diabline,48v tipper,went to an auction to buy building materials and came home with pickup,just fitted 8x 6v 160ah batterys now driving spot on,not sure how to put up photos,i will be selling in the new year once i give it a tidy up, feel a bit like driving an old mini,20mph feels like 60:laugh1:

hi we have a wheeled blower called a little wonder blower,with a 8hp briggs straton engine, realy powerful we recently used it to shift grain in a shed as it was faster than with shuffle, throws grain around 30 foot on full power, came from a council auction for £120 ,

try paul smith butcher,he used to be at westhill,but closed down earlier this year but i think he had around 10 hog roast machines,if he still has them he is verry reasonable guy to deal with,i think you can find him on face book,thanks

i have been keeping my fire going for the last 3 months on free offcuts from b&q the best stuff is chipboard posts things they use to deliver sheet wood instead of pallets,easy to snap to length required, burns hot and hardley any ash and free,mdf is also good in open fire no sparks,

depend what you are selling,we have an ebay business store, mainly selling new stock from bancrupt shops/firms,if we are selling new items we always sell on fixed price, just make it cheaper than everone else and it will sell.but used items usualy go on auctions,as with everything else,ebay is verry quiet at the moment its a buyers site,lots of bargains to be had on auctions,

yea spot on i am a sparky, old heaters and new they all use the same amount of electric to make the same amount of heat, new heaters have digital thermostats,so they might be a bit more economical but not worth spending 2-300 per heater on, insulation is the only way to save on money,seal up windows doors and thick curtains
