  1. G'day Spruce

    Hi all

If your stuck, I'm sure Jonsie's will post to Oxfordshire
  2. Really, i've just felled 130 tonnes of spruce and now I'm working my way through about 200 tonnes of beech, my 560XPG hasn't faltered once.... Forget about Shitl altogether (tin hat on lol)
  3. Cool, I'll take a look at that, been asked to make a coat rack so they'd need to have some aesthetic value. Thanks
  4. On the look out for some Roe Deer antlers, preferably around 4-5" long, with no more than 3 points, need about 4 in total. Looked online but can't really find what I'm looking for!! Many thanks in advance
  5. In general there is about 200g difference between having heated handles and not!! I've never really noticed the extra 200g while working, well worth it for less than half a lb in weight gain.
  6. Heated handles are worth every penny, wouldn't buy a saw without them now
  7. There were some Bonzai on display at Woodfest last year, there were some Larch's that were absolutely amazing...
  8. Wasn't having a dig, each to their own :thumbup1:
  9. I hate Stihl chains, personally they dont hold an edge well enough. Oregon chains all the way here...
  10. Hmmm, from my experience with this lumber measurement, you need a hoppus girth tape and a hoppus conversion book, if my memory serves me right a hoppus foot is 28% more than a cubic foot. The measurement allows for wastage at the mill, if trees were square we wouldn't need the measurement....
  11. 560XPG, 15" Sugihara bar, .325 Full chisel. Just done 150 tonne of Norway and working my way through approx 200 tonne of beech, it's the best saw I've used... Never had a .325 chain snap, never run one on a 60cc saw before, I'll not run anything else on it now :thumbup1:
  12. Isn't the LGX a LPX but with a deeper chromium plating to make it harder...
  13. Husky 550XPG, don't forget your own lock and key to keep those swaping hands at bay...
  14. I'm running Sugihara bars on all my huskies, I wouldn't use anything else now...:thumbup1:
  15. How did you do it?? And many people may laugh at this, but when I popped my back I went to see a physiotherapist who specialises in pilates, you soon realise how poor your core strength actually is, touch wood I've not had a twinge since...
  16. Where abouts off junction 31 are you? I might have a buyer in Mold for you...
  17. 20 litres of fuel in 8 hours! per cutter? do they have superchargers on their saws down there?
