  4. Bloody hell Tozer you do get about Me personally, my ideal planting would be Douglas around the perimeter, double row 3' spacings, the interior would then be alternate double racks of Beech, Birch, Ash and maybe a block in the centre with Grand Fir and Norway Spruce...
  5. Learning how to use the saw properly, how to maintain it and keep it sharp are top of the list, then PPE... I don't think you need to go the full hog of NPTC tickets, basic LANTRA training will suffice for your needs, have a look for something like this Chainsaw Training with Phil Dunford : Welcome to Phil's Chainsaw Training Website .

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.

See you inside.
