  1. The 560 will be exactly the same when running the same bar length and chain size as the 562. The difference is that k095 mounts go up to 24", the d009 can go much larger obviously. A ported 560 will out cut a 562, plus the 560 can run 13"
  2. They look the same if you have the standard set-up, you can quite easily fit the high top stuff to the 560
  3. It doesn't take much, a quick poke around husky's website, although I do have a PDF workshop manual for the 560/562
  4. Jon, the 562 is identical to the 560 in terms of tech and design, although it's fitted with a higher output oil pump, D009 (large) bar mounts and the usual American add-ons (air filter, big spikes & wrap handle )
  5. Generally, the home country will be the first to get the new model, America is usually later, despite many prototypes being sent for testing there. We had the ms150, the 550 and 560 before them too (150 way before, 2+ months)
  6. Carb boot, fuel lines, impulse line, then there's the crank seals, cylinder gasket
  7. Go on holiday to waiblingen and take a tour of the factory
  8. All depends on your preference mate, I've used 262xp's and 362xp's on 3/8, when I ordered the standard 7 spline, it came with 3/8. A 560 will pull happily on 8t 3/8, as for rpm, it runs just as fast as the 372xp
  9. I'm on .325 mate, I generally only run 70+cc on 3/8

    Bigger saw

    090 with a 21" set
  11. 1106's are still made in Germany, that guy put one up on AS, the serial started with a 1
  12. It's a well known fact, and Stihl don't deny it, I believe it may be added to the 880 soon, judging by the advert tag in my local dealer today, and heated handles! Or Stihl may have sent a tag with a typo, but it had no mention of 2-mix
  13. 1106 series is still in production Jon, longest production saws, the design hasn't changed much in 55 years either

    New Saw

Only 4? You need double that You need to run the saw in now, the best way is to hit your log pile as hard as possible!
  15. To be fair I've had to wait 3 weeks for Stihl parts before... Although that was the entire AV handle assembly for an 090, and it all had to be sourced from Germany, to the uk, and then to my local dealer
  16. Local dealer? Buxtons? It depends what mood husky are in! Took 2 weeks for an air filter holder to arrive for a 372xp!
  17. I have a spare handle (non heated) and clutch drum if you want mate
  18. What bits you gotta replace?
  19. Eddy_t

    Big stick!

That a hell of a lump! Mill it!
  20. Useful to know, mines the old type, have only changed the brake band for the new type recently
  21. Not still running now though
  22. Well, you know it's not really a pro saw, the idea is they use the most up-to-date tech! It revs lower than a 346xp, it's not progress! Especially against Stihls 241, which is also 1st gen x-torq, but that has auto tune, spring AV!
  23. You obviously haven't read the Stihl policy? That's "we're right, even when we make the 201t and 261, and when we decide to blanket ban anything online"
  24. Stubby's is the oldest 560, and by the sounds then, chris shepards is the oldest 550.
  25. It's a first gen x-torq, a step back IMO, rubber AV mounts, separate choke and stop switch, no crank stuffers, side mounted transfers (550 and 560 are front to back), all of those things are outdated compared to the modern huskys (even the 242 had more tech for a comparison). And at 14000 rpm, it's no thrashing nipper!
