    Dolmar

What cc? And does it run backwards or does dolmar not know how to fit a chain?
  2. Not quite sure what you're asking, I own a 560xp, I love it! It's one of the earlier ones, husky has since improved it. Not a huge fan of the 550xp, seems a let down compared to the 346xp
  3. The one on your 090av looks strange, is it a normal one someone has bodged?
  4. Shavey, you'll need the new type badge to fit the top cover you have.
  5. Heavier? I agree with sub standard, but that is because there is no quality control. I've used Chinese parts, a lot of the time, making modifications wouldn't be possible if I were buying oem parts, and full rebuilds would cost too much
  6. The date is on the muffler, I have spare dogs if you want, although one is drilled for a chain catcher

  8. Red tops are pre Andreas Stihl's death (pre-1972). Orange tops are 1973 onwards
  9. Crosscutting without risk of the bar getting pinched

    Project 064

The HD filters are what were fitted to ms660's during the latter stages of production, in fact, everything you may want as an extra can be found on an 066/ms660 parts list, such as high output oil pumps, wrap handles (there's 2 different ones!), AV rubbers (3!). The 1122 series of saws are arguably the most customisable ever produced.
  11. Tbh, I didn't check it with the first piston I did (which snagged a ring and chipped the plating), but the 2nd piston I stuck in was chucking out around 180psi fresh. I'll have to grab it and check it soon. I tend not to use it as the 357 requires some pull to start after I dicked around with the timing, just for showing off!

    Project 064

Lose the base gasket, use liquid seal, buy a wrap, fit a hd filter and a high ejection clutch cover
  13. A lot, about 1mm! Which is also damn difficult to do in a 3 jawed lathe!
  14. Try the 357/359 big bore kit! Tight tolerance in that! Had to lathe the piston to get it to fit without a gasket!
  15. Hi, welcome to the forum, lovely 090G, wrap handles and bow saw bar you have there. I'd love to get my hands on an 090G, I already have the guide bar!
  16. It's actually a downgraded 576xp, but it can't be upgraded like the 365
  17. Replacement for the 365, slightly bigger, don't think it's in the uk market. Autotune versions are first gen autotune, normal adjustment carbs are also available. New type x-torq (split at air filter), carb replacement stuff is quite expensive.
  18. I can guarantee that wouldn't happen, husky uses models in Sweden, and I don't think she is that attractive...
  19. You both mentioned technique! Work positioning is key for safe use. In every single case where I have used a saw with a single hand, I have positioned myself away from the line of fire, should kick-back occur. The more you try to decry the tool for being dangerous, the more likely it is to be banned. Look at the amount of safety features fitted in the last 30-40 years, chain catchers, rear hand guards, chainbrakes, inertia chainbrakes, triple chainbrakes, safety chains, ballistic type gloves. The issue that needs addressing is technique, if you add more protection, the operator will take a riskier approach as they become complacent with a greater safety features
  20. Explain how it's more dangerous than an ms880 with a 6 foot bar?! Actually could someone explain how my ms150t is more dangerous than my 385xp? The saws are no more dangerous than each other! The difference is the moron holding the throttle! Regarding one-handed operation, I've used every saw one handed at some point, toppers are designed so! Cut and hold is the habit where the danger lies!
  21. For anyone not wishing to void the warranty, fitting part 1137 140 0601 and removing the spark arrestor should provide a suitably large outlet for the exhaust gasses, whilst still being a Stihl approved part, like fitting magnum mufflers on ground saws.
  22. Extremely interesting, it's a late 80's, if not later model! New type AV, as I retrofitted to mine. Metal tags suggest pre '96. This means that all but the top cover is exactly replaceable. I can't remember when they were discontinued, but you have one of the last ones sold in Europe! Just as a pointer, always use the decompression button, as starter rings quickly become expensive! If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay?
  23. Where are these pictures?!
  24. The spray paint doesn't last very long anyway. Unless the saw is a restoration project or a fix'n'flog, the paint wears off pretty fast.
