  1. Temporary hijack ... Briquette_seller: How cost effective are briquettes v logs, to purchase, to burn?
  2. Don't for gods sake say you're agnostic, or they'll come back again and again to save you! Don't talk evolution in the Darwinian sense or again they think you're a nutter and need saving.
  3. Can't see from the pics whether there is mid span support under the lateral load bearing planks. Are you confident it won't bow and put stress on the rest of the structure. What about cross bracing, will it resist torsion, or a sideways load such as wind for instance? What have you done roof wise to keep the watery stuff out? But have to say it looks good.
  4. What class of liner required? - 316SS isn't appropriate, I've been told, and most installations for log burning are 316, mine is.
  5. I know, I saw it right away too... No safety glasses or hearing protection!!!
  6. Yes, your right. Worth doing.
  7. What would be your gut reaction (forgive the pun!), must say I'd probably have thought about pulling it out. Obviously I know better now. But be honest, what would you have done as first aid in a similar situation?
  8. Where about are you, I'd have some of that! (Just for personal use, not for resale)
  9. What won't be on one's bench tomorrow: a Stihl of any description!
  10. I thought it was the X Factor guy who won the contest in 2012 and never heard if since, lol
  11. Have you thought of a good second hand Leica by chance, optics are top notch. I like the range finder look. Fuji do an excellent pro looking range finder very similar to the red dot.
  12. I'm going to be using in anger soon, but just taking trial photos I'm very happy with the outcome. I bought the body separate and a f1.4 25mm Leica/Panasonic prime. I'll let you know when I've processed the results.
  13. I've just bought an Olympus OMD E5, it's a mirror less micro four thirds, so lighter in weight which is great for travel. Crop of 2 but great performance, lots of lenses available too.
  14. Never mind that, more important there's been nothing new on the favourite girl thread for 8 hrs!
  15. I've been re reading a previous chestnut thread and I'm totally confused. On the one hand it's said that sweet chestnut is good, seasons reasonably well within 12 months, but horse chestnut is a bugger, takes much longer and is a bigger to split with grain running in all directions. What's 3T in terms of M3 roughly?
  16. Is it sweet or horse, what quantity?
  17. Living in the forest of bowland should help, bit of nocturnal tree felling with a good silencer on the saw!!
  18. If using concrete posts, do you have to have gravel boards to keep the fencing panels off the dirt? Or can you somehow suspend the fence panel (there's a brick wall behind and I'd prefer to see part brick)? Don't want this effect:
  19. Hi likeitorlumpit, yeah they look good too. One question I have is this, original post will be concreted in. So with my fencing spade, I'm just going to hit the original concrete. How can I go deep enough without digging out the original mound?
  20. Cheers Roy, looks a good solution to my needs.
  21. Mowingjamie, so what do you do, you pour concrete in a hole where you want the post then bolt a metal post holder to the concrete and bolt the post to the metal box thing. Is that it? You haven't got a picture have you?
  22. Thanks guys, recycled plastic fence posts 100 x 100 x 3600 are £32 each but should last. Do you concrete in as for a concrete post, I guess you do.
