  10. Get the qualifications mentioned in previous replies and get yourself out there, meet people in the game, work for them, gain as much experience as you can and above all listen to anyone experienced giving you advice and take it on board. Watch videos on here or youtube, Reg Coates, Adam Bourne, Ian Flatters, Ben Draper, Steve Bullman and more to mention put up good videos doing work the correct way, watch and take note, we never had this luxury when we were starting out. Most of all be keen to learn, forget the money to start with, I started 20 years ago on £15 a day.....the wage a starter gets now is not too bad to that but then again I could get on a bus then for about 20p:001_rolleyes:

  12. Thank god he did that little sort of jump when he was branch walking/standing to test if it was going to hold his weight or not.....
  13. Great vid Adam, admittedly I fast forwarded a little but it was good to see how you are working the tree, great for starters to see an experienced climbers perspective and how important it is to have a sharp saw on a reduction (they should always be sharp I know, some new climbers don't even think of this....) no room for rips on reductions..... also enjoyed seeing how the SRT works well with a reduction. The finished job was perfect, looked really nice and natural in it's setting.
  14. Spot on Si! Your carvings just get better and better! APF next year.....
  15. Excellent first attempt Mac! Yeah were have you been hiding haha!
  16. Hi Gary, Before you buy a Spiderjack I would suggest you try and have a go of one first, they are a brilliant piece of kit but take some mastering, ascending is not the problem it's the descending which if you master it you will love it but if not you will fly out of the tree pretty quickly! Cambium savers give them a bit more friction than pulleys which isn't a bad thing, good luck with your choice and as alot of people here are suggesting also try the Zigzag, keep your options open
  17. Pay whatever you can afford for a website but....for it to be seen be prepared to pay Google alot of money!! Believe me!
