1. Has anyone used it going up or down steps....?? Loads of my work seems to involve going either up or down steps...so at the moment I'm going through a sack truck atleast 2-3 times a year....then that's what living in a town built at the end of five valleys means....cant go anywhere without bumping into a hill!!
2. similar but was going to block both open middle sections and enter via the storage containers!!
3. I plan on going as big as I can so I have room to grow, that's a nice looking barn plenty of space but mine needs to be secure too! I've contemplated moving two security containers apart and spanning the gap in the middle with trusses then securing both ends of the gap, I could then cut a doorway through the inside of each container hey presto secure storage!!
4. I've just secured a new bigger and far easier to work yard after growing out of the old one! There was an old pole barn in the new yard but that burnt down a few years back, part of the new yard deal is I rebuild the barn as secure storage for my kit, there is a steel security container with a leaky roof alongside the barn site that I can incorporate into the new barn aswell, I plan on taking the barn roof over it to stop the leaks. I'm after advice/pictures on barn/storage designs both single and double storey and the most cost effective methods of building!? A bit like the old show us your log store thread.
5. I bet you it would!! when I bought my husky 390xp I stuck the mitox in my lockup and forgot about it for 6 months, then took it out and it fired straight up with exactly the same routine as when I put it away! two pulls with the choke out it fires, choke in one pull and its away! I didn't even put fresh fuel in it!! !I only bought it as my last big saw died and I needed a cheap saw with a decent sized bar. Its payed for itself over and over again!
6. You'd probably be surprised by any of the Mitox range, I've had my 6224 62cc 24" bar for a good two years now and ok its not strong enough (imo) to run the 24" bar as well as some other makes that might be orange in colour, but it does run it. I run it now with a 16" bar and it rips really well and as long as it has a clean air filter it runs real smooth. It starts every time and hasn't let me down apart from a few bolts coming undone but thats happened on my Husky's and Stihl's aswell!! If I hadn't just bought a new stihl climbing saw I'd give one a go at £169 with out even thinking about it!!
7. I've just bought one from a friend that has been running 3 for his business along with a newer disco. I pick it up tomorrow morning, its a 2.8td 3 door 5 seat M reg just had 12 months mot put on it not that it needed much just a tyre, exhaust tip and tennis ball size weld on the inner sill. I've only got it for the towing capability which I am lead to believe is outstanding!! And all for £900 I'm looking forward to testing it!!
8. Cut the roof off you might get a bag of logs in it!!
9. Does anyone still use just a plain old loop wrapped round your rope a couple of times method or am I the only one?? I look at your fancy thingmabobs with different length whatdyoucallems and I'm lost in the nicest possible way!!??
10. "Even our ultra-cheesy youtube recruitment video isn't helping!" Love a bit of cheese. Do you run a laundry service for your employees as well? I've never seen a more sparkly reflective shinnnnnnie team than that!!
11.

Hello Rob, tried calling today but got your answer phone so rather than waffle on on it I thought I'd message you!

I need to put the biggest bar I can on my 390xp which is currently standard and running 3/8 058 chain on a 24"bar. Its purely for bringing down and logging up big timber no milling involved, your website says 30" but others who have commented on my post have said I can go bigger! What can you do?

I'd be interested to here your view and will look to order as soon as we have an answer!

cheers Arniecardigan aka Hugo

12. I will cut it in any way to get it out its all going for firewood so it makes no difference, I do want it done in the most time efficient way though as I'm really pushed on time at the moment!!
13. I have 3 Ash that are about 4-5foot at the base coming down first week of december.....so big is the size!!
14. Thanks to arbtalk I found the Bedford and owner however he cant do the work for me, so next question is......who owns and runs the bright green 4x4 Timber Truck with the Palfinger crane and grab that has just started operating from the Lakeside garage yard on the A46 at Nailsworth? I've seen that hauling some decent timber lately and have been told its two guys who have just moved to the area from Bristol but at the moment I can't find them!
15. Thats the three biggest firms around Stroud/Cirencester done in the last month and the last one they went back two weeks later so be on the look out!!
16. I need a subby climber for a horse chestnut reduction in Gloucester on the 29/11/13. Must have own kit and have a good standard of work. Good rate for right person. Pm me for details etc
17. I think it was! I caught a glimpse of the driver last time I saw it and thought it might have been Jim but I haven't seen him since doing some stuff with him when working for Nature first about 13years ago!! If you could send me his number that would be great help!!
18. I like to try and support my local shop but some times it just seems like they're hard work and almost don't want to help!
19. That just what I need and expert, not a garden machinery shop!! we don't have anyone local that understands the needs of the professional user!
20. My local dealer argued that you could not put anything bigger on it than the 24" without having to change sprocket and chain size and then it would not be recommended by Husqvarna so they could not supply the parts or fit them!! So what chain sizes are people running when using the bigger bars? are you having to change sprocket too??
21. Anyone know of the biggest bar and chain I can comfortably run on my standard 390xp without changing the sprocket from standard? And where I can get it without breaking the bank, my local dealer says its no bigger than 24" but I don't believe them!
22. Seen a guy driving an old Bedford TK Timber truck and trailer through Stroud Gloucestershire a few times recently, the truck has a crane with timber grab. When driving through Stroud the trailer has been strapped onto the bed of the truck to save towing it! Anybody know who this is??? I have 3 proper big ash to come down next month and need to transport them 5-6 miles to my yard, who ever he is he has the perfect set up to move them for me as they have to come across a field before getting to the road!! I've thought about moving it roadside but then I risk it being borrowed indefinitely by the timber fairies and I do not have access for a big rig at my yard! If no one knows who this is does anyone know anyone local to me with a similar set up??
