im thinking its too big for location - if its reduced now, its better than in 10-20yrs when odds on the client will want a 30% reduction and that means larger wounds and more stress on tree I also think the same thinking applies to the large bottom limb

some large long branches there m8. I would rather take some weight out of them now with say a 20% reduction, than leaving them to grow into a bigger problem in the future.

if you are a stickler - from now, you are best pruning all broadleaves (except a few exemptions like the walnut) after leaf fall. Its to do with trees energy depletion just as the leaves are falling. Shigo mentions it in one of his books - "the askanasi potential energy curve" please excuse any spelling mistakes, my spell check isn't working.

had notice from a building co that a tree needs to felled pronto as it might fall. Well probably over exaggerated I thought. No it wasn't. a 70 ft willow bifurcated at 15 ft - included bark, and a split between the two was expanding and contracting in a fresh breeze. I had no kids then so I got up quick and section felled it. I remember my groundsman went all fingers and thumbs trying to put the 020 on my rope - NEVER AGAIN

misery - I remember pricing a job to remove the chippings so ive got my tipper transit and chipper. The gardener said " you can chip on this tarporlin" I thought great - after I had done that I was preparing to leave and he said "what about the chippings being removed?" he though it would be easier to chip on the tarporlin than straight on the back of the tranny lol - I was fuming at the time and told him what an idiot he was.I had to shovel it all up.
