  1. Yome doomed up there J!
  2. Cynical K? Moi?? Not today chopper - I'm laughing my tits off.... Hartlepool scenario has me howling! Could be worse I 'spose, Labour could invite their most successful PM EVER back into office to sort out the current shitshow 😂 I listened to this interview on LBC this morning: 'Labour is the problem not Keir Starmer', says MP Steve Reed after 'shattering' result WWW.LBC.CO.UK Shadow Communities and Local Government Secretary Steve Reed told LBC that Labour's 'shattering' by-election result... It was a fair reflection of the situation for Labour with comments like: "...They [the electorate] feel there's been a rupture, both in trust, in culture, in who we stand for, in what we care about. We're inward looking, we're introspective, we talk to ourselves..." - when asked by Ferrari, who he'd upset to get the task of media interviews this morning he said he didn't know but that he was going for a coffee and a croissant. Yeah, you're right on message pal, coffee and croissant may be the staple diet of the North London Labour political elite but I'd suggest it may not be the staple diet of the target traditional Labour voter 😂 W⚓️
  3. Love it! Took me right back to the sunny uplands of my yoof!
  4. I’m {almost} too excited to sleep. Hartlepool looking very shaky for Sir Squeeky. London looking solid for Khan. Scotland in a balancing act where SNP devolution aspiration is being measured against abysmal performance stats.
  5. Jersey: https://youtu.be/cRUM1rSSZL4
  6. I did intend a sweeping unsubstantiated generalisation as applies to many quango type entities, apol’s if I wasn’t sufficiently clear.... 😂
  7. Agreed there will be exceptions and excellent cic set ups - I’d expect the smaller they are, the more reliable and credible (small village grow yr own 👍🏻, but the bigger they are the more likely to be corrupted by money, greed, power) With due recognition of the good ‘uns, I maintain the pitch fork wielding, flaming torch waving, rabble rousting general hysteria due to the fat cats 😂
  8. Not for profit / cic / community organisation / quango - whatever they call themselves, it’s always shiny ass richard craniums with no f*cking clue drawing a fat pay cheque off some other poor bar stewards hard labour without actually adding any value to the process. The sooner we’re rid of these leaches the better.
  9. My bad, just adjusted search criteria. 1 within 10 miles Several as you go out to 20 miles. That might not seem like far for many but bear in mind: (a) everymanjack sells firewood hereabouts (b) if I travel 100 miles a week it’s rare!
  10. I put my postcode in to the woodsure "find a supplier" and the same 3 come up as last year, Hertford, Grantham, Melton Mowbray being the nearest locations. So no new ones within 50miles of me. Just did my post code.... Big fat Zero! 😂 I’ll see if the search engine allows a search radius to be expanded later. Be interesting to know how many road miles it’ll take to get environmentally accredited firewood 😜
  11. Legend 😂
  12. There we are... Found it! How "systemic racism" affects trees in your city.
  13. I’m gonna have to see if I can find the dipshit research paper about urban canopy cover and white privilege now.... I genuinely snorted at the blatant bang wag honing (auto correct ‘got me’ there, but I’ll leave it as is) of the (so called) academic who put her name to it.... I ‘s’pose that YouTube cartoon about the black walnut is to be seen (and laughed at) no more.... 😫
  14. Now you’ve got Royal chirping in from the cheap seats...
  15. Petrograd - one of my all time, most memorable, outrageous and enjoyable runs ashore! And that’s from a long list of international contenders! Happy days 😂
  16. The “professional” told her what / how much to order, she did exactly as asked. An “amateur” did the job with half as much materiel. I ‘s’pose it’s possible builder planned for 2 coats. All I’m saying is, we all instantaneously thought it more likely that the overage would have gone off either to his home or another job. Im not suggesting ALL would behave this way, just that a lot seem to and it’s not just my experience.
  17. That’s a fair point, nod, dof cap. Friday I was at a very lovely 70yo customers house - part to just help fix something, part to talk politics and part for cake & coffee. Whilst there, the postie turned up. He and his mate had just painted her house. The builder that was going to do it had asked her to buy the paint and it had sat in the shed since he never bothered coming back to do the job. The postie said, you’ve got at least double what you needed there. We exchanged a knowing look and knew exactly what that caper was all about. Im a bit pissed now, that might not make any sense to anyone else....
  18. Didn’t intend to cause personal offence, I just speak from the experiences I’ve had with ropey builders.
  19. Haven't you got lambs to 'tend' to?
