The who can get most outraged at bad treework thread.

Dangerously close to election time - they're all at it grabbing whatever FaceTime they can. Trouble is, many people seem incapable of spotting an oxygen thief even when they are standing right beside them. Willow Trees Matter.... -
Not “advice” as such (just in case you take it😂) Why bother with type C at all and certainly on the ground. Type C have become commonplace to protect the careless, the reckless and the inexperienced from damaging themselves. Example - all round protection to protect the back of the legs... What sort of spanner would try and do a cut behind them self rather than getting into a more suitable work position? If you’re not in any of those categories, don’t bother with type C.... Just a point of view from the backcountry - suns out, shorts & flip flops here!

My Marmite posts were anything but tongue in cheek! This is about as serious as it gets and has taken precedence over trying to fix machinery this morning!
-
“Odd!” Whats “odd” about a Marmite addiction? Sounds like you need a spell in a re-education camp! 10 jars - ordered! I won’t be caught like this again, cash & carry for the 600g tub if this carries on. Just seen on Amazon, 250g jars are going at £10!
-
Cheese, peanut butter, Marmite & mayonnaise sandwich is my snack of choice when (as often happens) I have to get up in the night to eat 😂
-
Delivery spot booked for tomorrow! Min spend £40 8 jars booked! They only seem to have the 250g not the 500g 😒 Make up the difference in red wine! Now that really is AT at its best! @Big J your pension pot just took a hit 😂

VEGEMITE! Id rather vote Lib Dem! The wife said she’d seen a supermarket ‘own brand’ but thought better of it! Saved 1000s in divorce fees 😂 Will ask her to try Tesco online though!
-
Is that your hand or your lovely wife’s hand J? If it’s your shovel like hands that could be a 500g jar looking tiny with your hands as scale. If however it’s a wife or child’s hand you may be trying to ‘adjust’ scale and visual reference in order to create the illusion of a 500g jar which is actually 200g? In either case - that XO stuff is black gold! Never mind bitcoin, you’re sat on your retirement fund there!!

Whoever it is I want Marmite! Going to have to put a bid in on Big Js X mature....

There’s merit in both of those! Save save petrol and/or deliver spoil back to nearest council office. I once did something quite similar after the refuse collection contract was switched to a new provider. For 5 consecutive weeks our bins were not emptied. New contract, new routes, some teething problems etc, etc, etc so I definitely cut them some slack and wife dutifully called the “missed bins hotline” each week, waiting patiently, on hold, for <30 mins per time only to be promised that “...they’d send someone out within 24hrs...” Needless to say, this saga continued for 5 weeks with an ever growing pile of broken reassuring promises of “teething problems” and “we’ll get that sorted” not to mention the uncollected garbage! Day before scheduled (week 6) collection, I was passing council 1 stop shop (😂) I’ll pop in and have a word thinks I. Waited in line, got to front of line, explained to lovely lady on the desk that bins hadn’t been collected for 5 weeks. You need to phone the “hotline”, it’ll all get sorted she says.... Done that, 5 times says I. All I’m saying is, if it hasn’t gone by tomorrow, I’m bringing it in here. Oh no she says, “I’ll send an email, don’t worry, it’ll all be sorted!” Righty-ho, thank you, hopefully won’t see you tomorrow. I know, you know what’s coming! Scheduled week 6 collection day / time comes and goes - tumbleweed. Loaded 6 weeks worth of garbage in the trailer and set off for council 1 stop shop. Waited in line, almost got to the front but realised the customer in front of me was explaining the very same problem. So I butted in (politely) and said “I note you are having the same problem as me, I came in yesterday and spoke to this lovely lady and explained that, after 6 weeks, if it wasn’t resolved today I’d be bringing it all in here.” Well guess what, here I am, I’m parked outside blocking the entrance / exit so wanted to ask - where do you want it? Want what said the lady that had, 24hrs earlier, had the very same conversation with me. 6 weeks worth of uncollected garbage you reassured me, just yesterday, that would be sorted today I said with a smile. She called “Nigel” - the kind of grounds / facilities manager. Nigel - from a cohort of perhaps not the most dynamic LA employees was notably exceptional as a miserable and short tempered barsteward - PERFECT! What do you want he says... Somewhat taken aback by his blunt, (slightly less than passive) aggressive approach, I realised I was in for some ‘sport’ with Nigel. I’ve got 6 weeks worth of garbage in the trailer Nigel, just popped in to ask where you want it dropping. We don’t take garbage here says Nigel, you need to contact the bin men. I know that Nigel, done it 5 times over the past 5 weeks and I came in yesterday to say I’d be bringing it in here if it wasn’t collected today (lovely lady behind desk nodding and smiling sweetly in affirmation - other customers waiting in line looking on with interest! Well what is it contained in asks Nigel. Dumpy bags Nigel, 6 weeks worth. We can’t take dumpy bags, you’ll have to take it to the household waste recycling centre. Nigel, it’s here, outside, in the trailer which is blocking access / egress to the car park. I am here now purely as a courtesy to ask you where you want it. I know you “don’t” want it, but you’re having it. Is there a spot where I should unload which is less inconvenient than anywhere else, that’s all you have to decide. If you can’t, I’ll pick a spot which is convenient for me and you can sort the rest out at your leisure. Now then Nigel - where do you want it? Nigel had a bad day, I’d shifted 6 weeks worth of uncollected garbage and the following week scheduled collection went off without a hitch. (I did book an appointment with the council tax nazis to discuss a breach of contract and additional costs associated with work of an unpleasant nature requiring a council tax rebate but didn’t follow it through fully.) Anyway, to cut a long story long, maybe take the spoil in and drop it at council office?

I can tell you exactly what happened with regard to parish council voting 0% precept and 1.3% appearing on CT summary received last week. The PC are incompetent idiots. If you want to read about it in detail it is all laid out here: https://www.facebook.com/StCleer and here: Let me know if you have trouble with the link and I'll try something different

Yeah, whilst previously it was “Tory austerity”, they’ve now got that AND C19 to hide behind.
-
Typical Delboy - trying to shift old stock. They're BLUE now 🇬🇧
-
And theme more than welcome - so long as they bring their big city bucks with 'em and leave their big city, multi-cultural wokeness behind. That sort of malarky will not be tolerated in the backcountry. Just cause they've f2cked their own communities to buggary they've no business doing it to ours as well.

Don't drink the Coolade K! UK has better psyops and intel services than pretty much the rest of the EU combined. It's not a case of UK being shut out of an EU database, more a case of EU choosing to cut it's own nose off to spite our face. Same reason the channel tunnel was constructed - the rest of Europe was feeling isolated 😂
-
He's doomed on both fronts then..... 😂

Yes. It's already very apparent. One job recently, house sold in Richmond, bungalow bought in Cornwall. Probably ¼ £mil spare cash in the bank. My mate was primary on the tree work, I was just helping out. Finished part 1 and he asked if I'd suggest what price he should punt for part 2. I told him what I'd charge it at, he was a bit shocked but passed it forward to homeowner. They didn't bat an eyelid and he said - nearly ripped his arm off. Job done, decent payday, easy money. It was only when I pointed out that the work we'd done would add more to the value to the property (extended views) than the cost of the extension, the new glazing, the complete internal refurb of the bungalow - all of which was taking place while we were there. I've no doubt the architect, builder, glazier etc were all earning a pretty penny. Some people can simply 'see' where value is added, and some still think nothing of splashing £10k on windows but balk at £2k for good tree work.

Also, in part perhaps, an eye-opener in respect of people will have realised how much cash they were (literally) spaffing up the wall on unnecessary expenditure. Maybe we'll see (I know, I'm an eternal optimist) a wholesale realignment of what people actually consider important enough to warrant expenditure?

These have been out of stock for ages too (really frustrating): (Looks like I'll need them to keep the Marmite in!)

Surely no J! We are not polar opposites on this too 😂
