  1. That’s where it gets more complicated, it’s going to be a difficult transition back to reinstating the general rights of freedom to travel - for whatever reason.
  2. I stand by the statement Mick - especially as relates to foreign holidays. Whilst over dramatisation and poetic licence are notably favoured delivery methods, it was not a deliberate act of exaggeration in this case. I genuinely believe you’d be gambling against losing your booking to cancellation, having additional quarantine or travel restrictions imposed dependant upon emergent circumstances AND playing fast and loose with the potential of prolonging the global impact
  3. Any foreign holiday this year is a reckless gamble. I don’t generally like holidays, I just spend my time fretting about work or stuff I should / could be doing at home. That said, I’d give a test-tickle for a week on a sun bed drinking cold beer and eating calamari right now. Maybe next year...
  4. Uck off you Marxist unt!
  5. There’s a lot of assumptions there mate. I can hardly make any sense of the thread the way it’s all jumbled up in order of what has been said. Im no fan of misplaced LA inappropriate application of TPOs (or lazy ‘public amenity’ catch-all refusals of work schedules) but that’s not to say I’ve seen anything here that makes any sense so far - apart from those comments that say careful how you (OP) carry on.
  6. That clears that up then. He’s obviously a knuckle dragger.
  7. Has the original post been drastically edited such that a load of info has been removed? There seems to be a million more times the info / assumption / opinion in the various answers than can possibly be derived from what I can see as the OP? (but from what can be read, This looks like a wind-up or the behaviour / actions of a Neanderthal)
  8. Xact same as happened ere in Cornwall back aways. Standing by for the Summer madness which is just around the corner and likely to be worse than normal this year. All the prices seem to have skyrocketed in anticipation.
  9. Out on site visits, scoping potential jobs and a tree inspection which took me within the vicinity of this majestic specimen - The Darley Oak. Good to see plenty of vigour in the early bud formation. Reckoned to be over a 1000 years old. Kind of puts a human life into perspective. http://www.ancienttreeforum.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Darley-oak-for-Pro-Arb-Feb-2016.pdf
  10. Career anarchists, rabble rousers and ne’er-do-wells. Anything other than getting a ‘king job. They’ll just move on to the next “cause” - anything anti imperialism / capitalism / white privilege seems to be de rigueur...
  11. Wardrobes on “special” Editor sense of humour or just not entirely focussed?
  12. Lovely. Nice to see that Colonialism is still alive and kicking in the EU. Fixed that for ya..... 😂
  13. Cummins is talking sense today. No room for brutal truth and honesty in politics though.... Health department was dysfunction and shambolic - only saved by military planning and logistics.
  14. What an outrageous, imperialist, freakishly inappropriate thing to say (even in that timeframe.) If only he could see Zimbabwe today he’d know how absolutely clueless he was.... 😂😂😂
  15. Are you SE Cornwall SSS? You mean Sheryl Murray? A steaming pile of dog turd would be more welcome / useful / competent - of that I absolutely, unreservedly agree! She’s the reason I voted Green last but 1 election. (Had to vote Blue last time because it was just possible that that clown Corbyn might have snuck in off the back of stoned f*ckwits thinking he was cool grandad at Glastonbury) The saddest thing is - as it stands, she represents the ‘best’ SE Cornwall has to offer.
  16. I did think that as I was typing K 😂
  17. Hartlepool Labour MP quits in the wake of a sexual harassment enquiry which will trigger a bye-election. Under ‘normal’ circumstances, you could shave an orangutan, put it in a cheap suit and a red tie, call it a Labour prospective parliamentary candidate and it wouldn’t matter if it sat there w⚓️ing and throwing its own faeces at passing members of the public.... With a Labour majority of just a tad over 3.5k at the last election, this could be entertaining 😂 Interesting reading the Guardian feature which ‘reports the resignation but chooses’ to ‘omit’ any detail of why he has quit.... 😂
  18. What can we take from that then? 2 seemingly similar scenarios in fairly quick succession. 1 alleged perp a white copper in London 1 an immigrant in the Shires 1 is internationally news worthy the other no more than the local rag. Must be a ‘regional’ thing.....😒
  19. OK, take the ethnicity, the (alleged) crime and the profession of the accused out of the equation - then ask - 2 injuries requiring hospital treatment whilst in police custody within a week? Where is the human rights outrage? Where are the usual players? Where are the riots and lawlessness? Tumbleweed. Now try changing some of the constituent parts (the alleged crime, the ethnicity and the profession) and how do you think the news and public reaction might be different? All I’m saying is, those that seem to want to champion the civil liberties of pre convicted assumed offenders seem to have some kind of selective ‘lens’ on their goggles.
  20. Id considered the same whether it might have been self inflicted. Maybe he ‘walked into a door’ or ‘slipped and fell in the shower?’ It’s possible, although after the first preventative measures should have been put in place. Duty of care. Any injury in police custody ought to be newsworthy - especially by those that espouse such strong views on ‘justice’ - like wor Majeed.
  21. In reverse order, the side discussion isn’t always helpful to the originator but such situations often give rise to more in depth debate. Also often the case that a homeowner asks a question, sets the hares running, then never looks in again to see if anyone actually answered their question. There’s probably an element of the first causing the second to be fair 😂 I think someone summed it up quite well earlier. A ‘tree surgeon’ makes their living from reducing / removing trees. They may not always be the best source of informed, independent, objective advice. That said, a good one will tell you what they are not prepared to do and why. A not so good one may advise reduction / removal because it’s in their interest rather than yours.
  22. Rich, my comments were purely hypothetical rather than intended to contribute directly to your specific circumstances. Apologies for that.
  23. Wor Majeed often recounts his own perceived experiences of injustice, and even today opined on the inappropriate stance the Home Secretary took in seeking to bring ‘fear’ to criminals before they had even been tried and found guilty - I presume he was intimating that they were not criminals until after having been found guilty - a stance Id take issue with since ‘they’ would be criminals after having committed a criminal offence rather than after having been found guilty of doing so. But that’s a point to debate all on its own. The question I wanted to pose however was, since it is reported that the suspect in the current abduction/murder case has been hospitalised with head injuries twice in the short time in police custody, (a) is this not a case of a ‘pre-criminal’ being mistreated in police custody (especially given wor Majeed’s immediately previously stated discomfort with people being classified as crim’s prior to having stood trial) and (b) what would the reaction have been had said crim have been BAME and hospitalised twice in a week whilst in police custody. Odd isn’t it that a black career criminal dies resisting arrest in the US and creates such global outrage but that a white police officer in police custody gets his head kicked in (twice in a week) and it is barely noteworthy. Whether he deserves it or not is not relevant - mistreatment in police custody is patently unlawful regardless of ethnicity. Is it only newsworthy when it affects BAME though?
  24. That makes sense, I interpreted it as meaning you sideline assumed facts which I thought would have been a peculiar course of action in attempting to gain as full a picture as possible. I see no difficulty in attempting to gain, and assimilating, background info in order to create as full a picture as possible but I also acknowledge the importance of caveating that which is anecdotal as opposed to that which is observed. "...whilst I did not 'see' the drive being laid, it was stated by the homeowner that it was done in 200X (either supported by evidence or not.) The drive has encroached upon Y% of the RPA - a calculation which is taken from BS. A test dig shows an excavated depth of Z made up of the following layers with a total depth of Q. In the absence of any other indicators the decline in tree vitality since 200X to present day may be attributed to the incursion into the RPA..." Red - Assumed Green - Observed Amber - Opinion The combination of circumstantial, observed and opinion. In this (probably overly simplistic example), the date of the unobserved seems (to me at least) to be a pretty significant factor in arriving at the opinion and the opinion would be notably lacking without it. Would you consider a thread to share your thoughts if you restart your witness training? Understand if you didn't want to of course 😂
  25. I phoned in today, didn’t get on though....
