  1. Good luck with that..... "...Automatically removes 99.95% of allergens and pollutants as small as 0.1 microns from the air..." Buy Dyson Pure Cool? Link tower purifier fan | Dyson Shop Perhaps I should have said, if it's the dust that's a problem, get a duster. If it's air quality, get a Dyson!
  2. I kinda knew (hoped / expected) you'd be amongst, if not, the first to pick up.... But... It pains me to say, that's a very disappointing response, I was expecting something with more thought and consideration. It's Friday night, I'll hold my breath for something more characteristically insightful!
  3. As a reluctant outsider to the Mog owners club (I just can't justify it although I seem to be fighting my urges on a monthly basis!) am I missing something with this one U2150L38 | Atkinson Vos which has been for sale for a while? It "looks", to the uninitiated, to be a great unit, what am I missing that has left it unsold for so long??
  4. Change of topic, N Korea with the 3rd largest global stockpile of chemical weapons, recent use of VX on foreign soil and recent ballistic missile test.... Holy crap, luckily the West is focussed upon Trump's locker room banter.....
  5. If it wasn't so commonplace / expected, it would beggar belief....
  6. Remarkable that such a useful and relevant reference would be ignored / excluded?
  7. Update: Over 2 months on, the van is back from the body shop after the other party admitted liability, after I had insisted the police re-interview the witnesses after they had initially decided not to proceed to prosecution. So, it's fixed and the cost has been passed to the other parties insurer. The "investigation" is currently with the Collisions Sergeant awaiting a decision on wether a prosecution is likely. I spent a bit of time the other day analysing and number crunching the diary entries for all of the admin and travel I'd incurred as a result of sorting all of this out. It surprised me to see the totals when all the many hassles, phone calls and travelling was totted up. 4 hours on the phone (9%), 2 hours on correspondence (4%), 21 hours on travel (52%)(includes time at garages), 14 hours 'other' (34%.) With costings applied @ £25/hr for time, £.50 per minute (outgoing) phone calls and £.50 per mile for travelling this comes in at £1353.47 as uninsured losses. I've written to the other party and invited them to settle in full by 16:00 6 Mar 17. If they choose not to it'll go to County Court for recovery action. Be interesting to see how it pans out....
  8. LAs are too busy blaming central government funding for their inability to operate within a budget to focus on additional tasking! (It's a gold plated excuse for poor management.) Joe Public is more likely to get the jitters and flash up the B&Q saw with headlines like this from the BBC: Storm Doris: Woman killed as UK hit by winds reaching 94mph - BBC News As described by Ball & Ball-King in Public Safety and Risk Assessment – Improving Decision Making (2011), "...exposure to a memorable accident either directly or indirectly through a recent news story may lead to an inclination to rate the probability of a recurrence as higher than it actually is..." BBC headline "woman killed" accompanied by a picture of a fallen tree which is completely unrelated to the woman's death. Notably, there is also a crushed car in the picture! Misguided tree-related media sensationalism likely to result in a purge of roadside trees rather than cars?
  9. I've actually caught the sun today! That's bonkers for Feb!!
  10. Labour's 7,853 votes, in a traditional Labour heartland, to UKIP's 5,233 where only 38% bothered to cast a vote.... Not sure the champagne socialists will be placing too many orders at Corney & Barrow just yet 🥂
  11. Sound advice Mull! I'll put another log on and put my feet up 👍🏻🍸
  12. Can't talk..... Distraught! (Lost a tenner!) Apart from, 38% turnout in Stoke... There's a community that's lost faith in politics!
  13. Anyone else watching Trevor Phillips program on C4? He's talking about immigration..... The racist barsteward!
  14. That is a nightmare situation! If there is a bright side, at least he wasn't injured or you might have had HSE looking at YOUR responsibilities towards him - possible compo and even prosecution?? You'd feel guilty as sin and offer much help if it were you, and so would I and doubtless most decent blokes would too, but we're not him and he doesn't. I think you're between a rock and a hard place. Feel for you
  15. A big red nose and a belly like a pregnant lass!
  16. 😂 Alas Marcus, chugging vast quantities of ale, philandering and generally acting the goat are still not recognised in the qualifying criteria - much to my (and Becks) displeasure. Had they been, I'm sure it might have been a CBE! All I did manage to do was present a sufficiently serious and professional demeanour for just about long enough to convince my boss!! Admittedly, holding on to it had been significantly more of a challenge than getting it in the first place 😳 PS I didn't say he done it, I said he was acquitted!
  17. There you go getting wrapped up in the detail again.... 😂
  18. I'm navigating hazardous waterways now! That was 15 years ago. It was a crazy night in many respects. I was out on the town in St Pete's with a mate that had recently been released from bail, acquitted of murdering his wife and returned to work. He was a little bit fragile to be fair and quite a lot of nasty vodka was being consumed (in hindsight, probably not the best idea.) We landed up in a bar that always reminds me of a scene from the film Dusk til Dawn. One predominant but rather hazy memories is of the large wooden chair with metal balls on the arm rests. The unwitting victim was "encouraged" or man-handled into the seat whilst the baying crowd cheered and, depending upon the volume of the cheer, encouraged the maniacal barman to crank up the voltage of the Frankensteinesque dial behind the bar.... The longer the "victim" could keep hold of the balls dictated how long the happy hour session lasted.... and each time the happy hour expired, another volunteer was "selected." So, I remember all of that, I remember my mate being in the chair, but I don't remember how I started talking to Marina Like I said, hazardous waterways, that was 15 years ago and I've been with the wife for 14! (Since our initial meeting she went on to marry a Texan, divorce, move from the US to Brazil and is now back in St Pete's. We stay in touch on FB, she is a wonderful person and from her I gain a closer insight to the Russian mindset.)
  19. I can do what ever I want outside of your devolved country!
  20. No, that was spot on.... Mutinies have started over less! The only part that may have been misunderstood was that, whilst the opportunities of Service may have facilitated some of the introductions, it's what followed that provided the experiences. For example, whilst sailing a Nic 55 through the Med, a coincidental stop in Menorca allowed the meeting of a beautiful Swedish girl that resulted in a 4 year relationship (lots of time in Sweden) which stalled only when I moved to Germany and she to study in Cadiz. We fought on through as best we could and Cadiz was awesome but distance and separation eventually got the better of us. The time in Germany resulted in much social time in Holland and I've just this week returned from Utrecht after visiting friends. Another 4 year relationship with a Kiwi girl I met in London resulted in some significant time (and nearly a relocation) to NZ. An early love with a Brazilian girl met in Rio (that was always doomed to fail!) Time in Russia with work similarly led to a liaison with a stunning ballet dancer from St Petersburg. Disillusionment with work resulted in a period in Morocco. And, whilst I realise these examples might not entirely support what I wrote earlier, that's as much as I'm prepared to share on here!
  21. Obliged to you Guv'nor! You'd be better asking direct if I've written something that you don't understand Dickie! You may have fallen into the old 'assumption" trap there old boy....
  22. I didn't put my question very well! I would call the one you have a cut and hold (very similar in the multione shear) since you can grip the stick after cutting as compared to, for example, the EXAC1 type which doesn't have any hold at all. Exac-One Ltd - Tree Shears I saw the EXAC1 version at a demo a while back, the swivel function was really appealing but there's no ability to grip the stick on the smaller head unit. What I'm struggling to balance up is - would the swivel be as useful on a mini loader where you'd have to reposition the machine to achieve the manoeuvrability available from a swing shovel, at the cost of losing the "hold" functionality or is the "hold" worth more than the swivel..... If that makes sense? If only someone would make a tool that suited all needs! They're all pants changing prices!!
  23. Not strictly, entirely accurate Mr E although it did present some additional opportunities.
