  1. 2 options: (1) has an (a) or a (b) sub-option: (a) previous incumbents, despite the funding being allocated, have not had the kahoonas but have preferred, every 6 months, to sign off the waiver which prevented the funding being withdrawn and Trump is the first to put his mouth where the money is. or (b) he's a lunatic. (2) There's never been a better time to do what has been policy for many years. The Mid East is in almost total disarray with many war torn, dysfunctional nations unable to manage internal politics let alone contribute to, consolidate or coordinate a wider 'Arab' response. We're a year into it.... I think there's a 50/50 chance it's (1)(b)
  2. You won't go far wrong by having a look at the guides here: https://www.barcham.co.uk/guides-advice/ I'm guessing you don't mean 6" (six inches?) I'd have thought getting 'em out of black plastic as soon as poss would be a good bet - maybe into temp nursery bed to await planting.
  3. This is a good point. Predominantly, the only folk commenting here are those that are already 'bought in' to the concept. Maybe it's because there aren't so many units out there yet that there isn't a broad spectrum of opinion? Unlike chippers - if it's bad, people say so. Maybe there just aren't enough users yet to hear from someone that regrets, or has had a bad experience, from the MO/Avant style yet? I spent 2 years looking and trying before settling on the MO. Looked at the micro wheeled and tracked units, looked at the next level up (can't remember the name, the more forestry spec unit - dealer up by Cirencester somewhere.) You just have to settle for what works best for you. For me, the extra lift/power + the additional utility was enough to justify the relatively small price point increase in comparison to the smaller units. It can do SO much, it fits on a trailer and tows behind a PU. Some jobs it's ideal, some it's more hassle than it's worth to take it.
  4. By adopting my master plan they wouldn't be eligible! They could stand for election to the Oireachtas instead - that would be a good deal closer to making them happy too! But, I think, I get what I think you might be meaning, if I understand what you mean rightly as intended... Quite so! It would be foolish for any party with an eligible claim to a seat in the UK parliament NOT to take their seat when things are so delicately balanced - every voice counts! At present, and for too long, the whole Irish scenario has been empowered to exert far greater 'influence' than it duly deserves in UK politics. It's long been the way that Blue & Red have courted the support of (what can only be described as radical, religious extremist elements) to back up their own inadequacies. All we're doing along the way is attempting to treat the symptom without addressing the cause.
  5. Getting the hose length right is tricky. I’ve got a bit too much on tree shear and on black splitter. Lessons learnt, it’s manageable but would be better with a bit less.
  6. NI majority vote to remain in EU - 56 v 44% How about this as a thought: Return the government and sovereignty of the North of IreIand to the Republic of Ireland thus allowing the majority of the North to retain their EU membership - a democratically stated preference. Any possible consequential "civil unrest" would be for the ROI (and potentially the EU) to manage. Kind of like returning the favour elements within the ROI did for UK in the past. DUP cease to exert disproportionate and undemocratic influence upon mainland UK politics. Job done - simples!
  7. How did the 4x4 get there then? (and don't give us that "they drive in pairs+ melarchy" I'm more inclined to believe Mr B, he was out taking a stroll to the pub and saw you!
  8. It's a great thread! And the discussion one too... Was at James O'Brien on LBC yesterday - he had some proper boffin trying to explain Bitcoin to him and he was like "...you're talking Jane Austen, and I'm reading Ladybird..." It's all getting a lot of press right now, R2 last week, LBC yesterday.... Their financial editors must be AT readers???
  9. Had you pinched or knicked it Richy? (not suggesting it was "unpaid for") Early on, I crushed a hose on the grab by not paying attention when the opening the grab. Lesson learnt - I'm very careful now. I'm too tight-wad to be paying out for things that could/should have been avoided.
  10. Agreed! With care, time and proper thought given to the circumstances. The underlying principle that a dog is a pack animal and should be expected to understand it's 'place' in the pack. It's mostly where there is an element of confusion (on the dogs part - as a consequence of human failure) leading to competition for pack advancement (in the absence of an established 'pack leader' and/or hierarchy) that problems can manifest. I wouldn't be confident enough to take on some of the proper badass ex-mil dogs (although there is a certain appeal to the prospect of a dog that is aggressive towards the dish-dash, that'd fit in well in Cornwall!)
  11. I wouldn’t suggest some dogs, depending upon their previous role / training / learnt behaviour, would be suitable for integration into a “family pet” indoor family dog scenario. That clearly wouldn’t be appropriate or sensible. But that’s not to say protection, tracking, obedience trained dogs have no role outside of the military; just that caution should be applied in considering the where, why and who with. In the wrong scenario, they should be considered as a potentially lethal weapon. Our previous GSD was sent to Germany for 8 months intensive Shutzhund training and came back into the family dog role. Never ceases to amaze me what they will do for you if asked properly. First attempt, he was either going to bite me or shred the head gear, 2 mins later, I’m not allowed to take it off him (or so he thinks!)
  12. I haven’t seen the story but can imagine the scenario. The Vet Officer for working dogs was my oppo while I was Deputy Chief of Staff at Camp Bastion. Time in the kennels was a valuable escape from daily business. Id have them all come and stay with me if it was allowed.
  13. That was a GIFT! Sucker...... If you keep knocking those passes up, you can bet your Brexit there'll be someone to smash em' into the net for you!! (and no, as you well know, that's not what he said!)
  14. It's at witham mod vehicles sales via bidspotter try this and scroll down: https://www.bidspotter.co.uk/en-gb/auction-catalogues/timed/wca/catalogue-id-witham1-10000
  15. If it's working, and (big if) the reserve stays realistic, this could be a good buy: https://whitelabel-2.globalauctionplatform.com/en-gb/auction-catalogues/wca/catalogue-id-witham1-10000/lot-fe24f335-53b6-4074-ac53-a83a00ecd29d A few minor mods and that could be a useful conveyor!
  16. I wish! Missed my lunchtime siesta today due to a meeting - it's saved me a big bucket of mulla though, so I guess it was worthwhile. Wife's out tonight so as soon as I've got the nipper into bed it's sofa time!!
  17. Your unbelievably dull and repetitive petty drivel and derision towards ‘leave’ voters, simply exposes the absence of any tangible, viable advantage to your (apparent) Bremoantard sentiment. I yawn in your general direction.....

  19. You might have more credibility if you tried to articulate why YOU voted however you did rather than trying (unbelievably tediously, and boringly) trying to second guess how and why others voted how they did... Your unbelievably dull and repetitive petty drivel and derision towards ‘leave’ voters, simply exposes the absence of any tangible, viable advantage to your (apparent) Bremoantard sentiment. I yawn in your general direction.....
  20. As fine an example of why inept, unaccountable, inexperienced public sector should not be allowed to play in the real world as might be imagined.... A history of under resourcing and mismanagement of public assets, a ‘bright spark’ proposes passing it off to industry, industry focuses on balance sheet not custodianship of public asset / amenity, Council ties itself into a contract it cannot adjust or amend (without significant financial penalty),prime contractor makes a pot of cash (but incurs some reputational damage (not really bothered)), Council blame contractor, public get shafted. Bottom line - this Council has failed in its duty to protect public asset and represent the ‘people.’
