  2. Well I had the prob, about 2 weeks ago Browsed arbtalk as normal Avast flagged up malware & I got 14 Trojans which attacked my laptop Couldn't remove them normally so had to take it to a computer geek, who sorted it in Linux Cost me a few beer tokens He said it was a new virus launched on 17/8 & avast hadn't patched it Guess I was unlucky? Is it safe now?

Cheers Chris, any offcuts or small stuff is fine I can handle rings or 5-6' lengths with the plant trailer I have, 1 tonne capacity At home I have a splitter etc All for my own home use, to process at my leisure -stuff that is odments to you guys really, whilst you guys process and sell the decent stuff to you clients I'm not going into your trade at all, I'm self-employed in Agriculture in a different trade, so won't treading on a any woodseller's toes (just thought I'd mention it)

  7. Hi Are there any tree surgeons/aborists in the North Yorkshire area who are willing to sell small loads (8x4, 1 tonne trailer loads) of unprocessed/scrap wood that they don't want to process/too busy too process... that I could buy Can collect from your yard and pay the going rate, of course
  8. Why not a motorbike, see more and actually meet people - rather than cocooned in a tin box Or at a push..................... the Landcruiser
  9. You know what they say:biggrin: If you want to go to the Outback.................take a Landrover If you want to go to the Outback and return home...............take a Toyota Landcruiser
  10. LogLoc I've got one this year and it was about a £115 with the 2 stand options (field spike or flat yard stand) Works well and safer than a traditional saw horse
  11. +1 Bought loads of vehicles via Ebay, never had a dud...............just treat it like a normal private sale, turn up with cash, get a receipt and examine all paperwork and kick the tyres before handing over cash DO NOT DO IT ANY OTHER WAY
  12. Hi Paul I was in York today and got fuel (diesel) fine in Morrisons (Foss Islands), no Q's and all seems back to normal You'll have no probs by Monday
  13. It's a cunning plan, carefully orchestrated by the Govt a) They say we should keep our tanks topped, creating a surge (panic) demand and the fuel stations run out So they know how much we've got on a daily basis b) Then it gets replenished and they know how long it takes So they know the restocking time Armed with all that data, they can work out a strategy plan, to deploy the military drivers Not as stupid, as they look.......................this Govt They are making sure they are better prepared than Labour in 2000 were
  14. Now we're getting somewhere, thanks Geoff Why are they undesirable? Anything we need to know about??
  15. It does say 07 S on the side But what we want to know, are they considered good saws? What are they worth?
  16. My neighbour was given this saw, a few years ago by the original owner because it stopped working So this afternoon we decided to drag it out and set about it Carb cleaned, everything checked and the main problem is the linkage for the choke, which was allowing the choke to open (by vibtation) because the linkage is incorrect (he'll order another from a Stihl dealer, hopefully if you can get them) No bother we made a temporary fix and she runs perfectly, oils like a good'un and just needs a few missing M4 and M5 cap screws and she's good to go Can some of my learned friends, ID the saw though and gives us some help She's in really good nick So what cc is it? What age? Is it worth anything? Could it be classed as a Vintage Saw??
  17. Sounds good:001_tt2:
  18. Isn't it the Gross Train Weight of the whole rig (Defender & loaded 3t trailer = 5.5tonne on the weighbridge), if it exceeds 3.5tonne you need a Trailer test in 2013, whether you've had your licence for 20 years or not:001_rolleyes: If your Defender and Trailer is in total is 3.5tonne or less, on the weighbridege - then you're ok Quite a bit on other Forums about it, especially with lasses with Discoveries and a Horsebox with 2 Horses in it, which means they think they will have to take the Trailer test in 2013 I think it's the size of the whole combined rig .................over 3.5tonne in total and you need a test
  19. I found this on another Forum New rules for towing trailers with a car or small vehicle : Directgov - Motoring Seems like even if you have an old licence (passed car test in 1982) - you will have to take a test to tow over 3500kg combined weight:001_rolleyes: Existing car or small vehicle drivers If you already have a licence to drive cars or small vehicles (category B and BE), you'll keep your entitlement to tow trailers. Your entitlement to tow trailers will stay as it was when you passed your driving test. To tow heavier trailers after 19 January 2013, you'll need to follow the rules for new drivers, below. New drivers from 19 January 2013 If you pass your test to drive cars or small vehicles up to 3,500 kilograms (kg) (category B) from 19 January 2013, you’ll be able to tow: light trailers weighing no more than 750 kg trailers weighing more than 750 kg, where the combined weight of the towing vehicle (car or small vehicle) and the trailer is not more than 3,500 kg Category BE If your trailer weighs over 750 kg and the combined trailer and towing vehicle weight is more than 3,500 kg, you’ll need to pass a further test. The trailer you tow must not be heavier than 3,500 kg. This test will be shown on your driving licence as category BE. Category C1E To tow a trailer weighing more than 3,500 kg with a car or small vehicle (category B), you’ll need to pass a test for category C1E. Am I reading it correctly?
