  1. If anyone wants to see the tree in leaf, the address for Streetview is Junction of Windermere Drive & Arbor Road @ Croft in Leicestershire Looks like the one on the corner, next to the electricity transformers
  2. Large ring, a mate wants it for a garden table - but doesn't know what tree it is and how long to season it Cut down today Any ideas??
  3. Mid 80's ones had twin carbs which were never as good, if your looking at that one in WYorks on Ebay, make it it runs ok Later ones 89-95 and 96-2004 were the best XR250's Post 96 were the best and are easy to start, run well in a good chassis
  4. Nice bike
  5. Welcome aboard:001_tongue:
  6. In and around Boltby, Sutton Bank and Rievaulx, North Yorkshire....last Thursday
  7. Coming from the North, down A1 a lorry had broken down a few miles north of Newark, so a 20 min delay Once we were rolling again, off at the Newark junction from the A1 and into showground, parked up within 7 mins from leaving A1 That was at 9.30am I saw no queues, getting in or out today - but heard many horror stories coming from A17 or A46
  8. They're about £65 - £70 new, so dunno if £37.50 is good or bad?
  9. Bbc is talking of '3 weeks of snow ' this morning ?
  10. All good advice & I would echo the comments about log size My stored seasoned logs were split originally for an open fire & now I've installed a wood burner, many are too large and have had to be re split into 'granny' logs
  11. Ask her:001_tongue:
  12. Here you go:001_tongue:
  13. So..............we've had Movember, for the boys Now we have Fanuary for the girls.............all for Charidee of course Style the bush................to be lush FANUARY!!!
  14. Last week everyone told me the 550/560XP was the best saw Husky made Really confused now
  15. I usually go on the Weds My most important event of the year
  16. So, let me get this right In the recent past you have been doing grass cutting and groundwork, made good money - but used none of this 'good money' to get lessons to learn to drive a car:confused1:.....................at 33 years of age too?? I have to ask, why? Chagford is on the eastern edge of Dartmoor, very rural and pretty isolated with the nearest small town being Moretonhampstead, which is hardly buzzing and Exeter is over 20 miles away, plus Bovey Tracey is over 15 miles away - in that community I would consider a car absolutely essential to any meaningful life - work or social I find it hard to believe that a 33 year old in Chagford, who has been previously employed/self employed hasn't bothered to learn to drive a car:confused1: There's more to this than meets the eye, I reckon
  17. How old and how much use?
  18. Local dealers, stock both makes
  19. Sorry, what I was meaning was - the best in the starting level price for a Pro Saw, with Metal cases Better filtration Sturdier Bigger pitch chain/bar More power all with an ability to run 2 bars, say 18" and a 13", so one saw could cover me needs
  20. Sorry to sound harsh, but when you first starting posting I thought you were 18-21, not 33 Take the advice given, everyone deserves a break - but a lot of is in your hands
  21. Makita DCS5030 - nobody has picked up on this? I know of a brand spanker for maybe £300 ish
  22. Good advice, still twitchy though.....................wish I could find a new or good MS260 no dont think so... That's that out the window then
  23. Does the MS250 have metal casings?
  24. Hi, I'm an occasional user 3-4 times a month, for logging and firewood around home etc Been using a MS180, with a 14" bar since 2008 and it's been great - but struggles on the some of the bigger rings/lumps So been looking to get a bigger saw, heavier duty with metal casings, rather than the plastic ones Ideally I'd like a saw which could handle a 18" bar/chain and a 13" one for smaller stuff Initially fancied a MS261, but not keen on their mixed reliability - so may look for a good MS260 Huskies look good, but which one? I know of a new Makita DCS5030 with a 15" bar for about £300, but worried about service/spares etc - my local dealers sell Stihl/Husqvarna Let me know what you think
