  1. Creosote is utter rubbish
  2. Hi I am very interested in the footplate for the DR, sounds a really good idea. Photos would be good
  3. I am retired but still wake up around 4am, can't sleep after that however I try.
  4. Another way is to hire a flail mower to clear the scrub and then keep it down with a ride on. I have been using the Dr to keep the tracks clear but am now looking at the ride on option. Just to save the legs.
  5. It depends how thick the scrub is as to how long it takes. I took 5 hours to clear and level a track wide enough to drive down one side of the wood. I still have to do the other side, hopefully next week. I cleared a track around my existing wood so that I can drive all the way around. Makes it so much easier to collect logs etc. I also use a DR scrub mower which clears nettles and brambles. Brambles that are very high get scraped out with the digger and then finished of with the DR machine
  6. There are loads of nutters on the roads these days Jon and it is getting worse
  7. I have just purchased an extra 6 acres of woodland which is very overgrown with brambles, nettles eat. I have a small 1.5 ton digger and spent Thursday clearing and levelling a ride wide enough to be able to drive round one side of the woodland so far. I walked the rote to ensure that I could get through without damaging the trees
  8. Went to the show Jon but did not see you. Looked out for you all day (Saturday) but as I don't know what you look like it was always going to be a problem. The only time I thought it might have been you was when I was watching the climbing and there was a group watching as well with one of the group with a beer glass in his hand. Was that you? Regards Laurie
  9. Great to see you all to
  10. How about a few smaller ones. Regards Laurie

  12. Me and the wife will be there on Saturday Jon. Regards Laurie
  13. 461 is one of the best saws on the market. Nice and balanced with plenty of power
  14. Our fire is out my wife gets too hot. Wish It was burning as it feels a bit cold to me. Still very windy
  15. Aspen all the way both Aspen 2 and Aspen 4 are a dream to use. I will never go back. The machines work much better on it
  16. Hi Sean, Hope you get out soon, I am sure your family will look after you to the best of their ability. If there is a good thing at least the weather should be better for you to get around. We are thinking of you and know you will soon be better, Laurie and Pauline
  17. I am told by the wife (the boss) that we are going Saturday. hope to see you all there look out for an old pensioner and his little short wife.
  18. I could offer you a cup of tea and a sandwich if you come this way Jon
  19. I worked all day and then went out to work in the evenings to get enough money for a deposit on my house. Yes work can be scarce in some areas but the Poles etc always manage to find work even though it is the low paid jobs. If there is jobs available the those on benefits should be made to do them or lose their benifits
  20. Well done sarries
  21. You forgot to put Tring on the list. Do Bedfordshire first on the way and then me in Tring
  22. My wife is very switched on like all women. I have to wear her down Over time by constantly telling her I need things. Sometimes she give in but not very often
  23. That would be good Jon I am sure you would fall for your charm. Lau Rie
