  5. What they should be asking for is the height/radial crown spread 'after reduction. The purpose being that this measurable 'after' the fact. I'd expect a refusal to validate if a %age reduction or 'x metre reduction was provided.
  6. It's worse than that Eggs. Ex teacher on the radio the other week who had a claim of assault against him from a known disruptive pupil, which was investigated by both the education authority and the police (no case to answer) was stopped from teaching years later after a similar advanced check. Seems like the system is that you don't even have to be tried, the claim has been made so that is that.
  7. I'm a bit confused, but the photo looks like an union that's failed due to included bark, i.e there's no connectivity between the stem/branch or stem/stem interface.
  8. No kiln knowledge or experience, but I'd be surprised if kiln drying releases significant volumes of CO2. Someone will probably be along to explain why I'm wrong, but as it's the moisture content of the wood that is being changed, the wood isn't being chemically altered by decomposition or burning etc, then where is the carbon coming from?
  9. How did we get from this Don't forget Jews and blacks To this?
  10. Has it failed at the junction with an upright stem - splitting at the joint, or snapped a metre or two from that junction. Or elsewhere? If you can get some good photos of where the failure has occurred it will help to determine whether or not further action is necessary (or not). And some more distance shots to show the tree in its surroundings.
  11. That totally depends on who is wearing them.
  12. If he was in heels you'd probably outrun him, coward!
  13. I'll have a peruse of my elm ident books - not that that will necessarily assist to draw a conclusion.
  14. Mind your own business! I bought him Dinner and drinks, and he gave me a present, last time we met - we're already close
  15. have you some dimensions, and are they hairy? Above, below, on veins?
  16. Only you (and Mark) would think of that, ya reprobate!
