  1. as people have said previous, download RealPlayer, its free... You open real player and use it as your web browser, find your YouTube video, start watching it, hover your cursor over the video and a "download video" link should come up, that's the best way I think, Or you can right click on the video and "save target as" works, but this can open you up to viruses as it download direct, my virus scanner checks real player as it downloads, if you use real player, ensure you click download during the video, not during adverts, as they are seperate and you will download the new VW golf advert
  2. hey man, I'm in the same situation as you, sounds like we have the same "employment" terms, I supply all my own kit, do some driving etc, and like you work flat out, I started on £60, my collegue who started at same time as me was a little braver than me and kept asking for a rise, naturally I got one ar the same time as him and am now on £80, some times feel that's still not enough, but to be honest matey, I read alot on this forum about people desperate for work, I never asked for a rise in case I lost my job all together, I spose you got to judge your bosses character, and how willing he may be to pay the extra, but I agree with the others on this thread, £60 is a not enough for what we do, Hope it works out you matey
  3. We have the "one day that might be handy" attitude, now its all hanging up in the workshop, looks like something out of a creepy porno lol
  4. I shall be keeping a eye on this thread for the date you set sounds really interesting
  5. I think the drift saves files in a standard format which can be used in most editing software, I used pinnacle studio before, but its quite power hungry, and annoying crashes can lose alot of unsaved work... I now use Sony Vegas 12, its alot smoother to use, pretty easy to pic up too, I dont have any experience with other software, my advice would be to download the free 30 day trial from the Sony website, at least you dont waste any money that way. If you wanna make some cool videos with royalty free music, use real player to download royalty free music from YouTube. Hope this helps, happy editing
  6. Doubt I will get to go.... But if I did I think I would have a hard time choosing between Friday and Sunday, love korn and slipknot, but then you got rammers on the Sunday, to date rammstein are the best band I have seen live, its like extreme theatre... Lol

  8. Must have been unlucky, I've had a pair of the gladiator 2 stretch airs on nearly all this year, and the only major damage was a exhaust burn which was my fault, I couldn't be happier with my pair, think they are better than my stihls I had before...

  18. i know this is really stupid, I remember being asked the same, and when I done my UA2 tickets I was told I had to supply my own insulated rods.... What I would be doing with a set of rods without the ticket to use them I don't know.....
  19. you would be suprised how fast a saws inertia kicks in when you get kick back, but you can get just as bad kick back when you have two hands on the saw. I've had bad kick back before just because the nose of the bar touched a bit if ivy stem on the back of a limb... I put it down to experiece
  20. hmmm thanks for the replies, i know stihl have their own policy, the person that bought the new saw was a new customer, and purchased it from one of the big names (who advertise on this site) personally i think it should be a little tighter... they are bloody dangerous machines, not to mention the lack of restrictions fuel the "non desireable's" that we have to contend with in this industry...
  21. Hi all... Recently speaking to a friend of mine, I was told someone was able to buy a new stihl top handle without having to prove they are qualified.... I was sure from my college days i was told you had to prove you were qualified with your nptc card etc... Can anyone ser me straight on this....? Thanks
  22. Do they have a flat part of roof, like over a garage? I've had to do a few jobs down terraced roads, carrying a small amount of brush up a ladder is a pain in the ass tho.... But sometimes its the only way...
  23. Thanks for the replies, will forward the messages to me boss
