  1. Ok. So last pic for today. As I'm using the iPad its getting annoying posting one at a time. Tomoz I will have the proper camera so will get a lot more and post them in a couple of posts at the end of the week.

    Ok. First this bread needs moving to the chainsaw forum. Will get the techs attention. Mods can do that. Second the oil pump. These pumps can be a pita. Firstly I would remove the clutch and check the gearing behind it to ensure the nylon gears and drives are in good nick. Only oiling a small amount is not always down to the pump. If the gearing is worn slightly it will move slowly and slow the pump. To remove the pump you need to remove the sourounding handle bar. The pump is under this at the front when saw upside down. This will either need a tool (bit like a crow bar) and a bolt to fit into end of pump to pull it out. (Can't remember the size off hand). M8 or something. The pump is a pencil looking one, they are cheap. But my money is on the gear drive from the clutch/crank area. Ther are a few posts around on how to remove these parts. On the "what's on your bench thread" may need to do some flicking through it to find them tho. It's a long thread. Start at the end and works back. Whee abouts are you. May be a tech close!
  8. The only true way is with a compression tester. Easy and quick. A simple gunston hi gauge will do. Don't need a fancy all singing all dancing one for chainsaws. Or a local friendly garage.
  9. Hot, sweaty and tireing. But enough about the bedroom....... Humid, and hot. Not a nice combination but at least I'm not working full days. Sorting everything for the war and peace show with the lifeboat. Dressing up tomoz in 1940s RNLI gear.... Now that's going to be hot...
  10. Should get the ryobi 4040. The clutch has arrows and it says remove in the direction it needs to be turned to take it off. :lol:

    I meant by the last bit about stuffing the port. Could see him not doing it then starting a new thread about why it has seized with huge canyons in it. As you say each to there own. In my mind if you are taking the handle and tank assembly off the may aswell remove the pot and then you can check the piston and pot for any damage at the same time. It's only four bolts once everything else is off anyway.

    :lol: could just see the next thread..... Or just remove the pot altogether so its easier to hold or clamp in a vice.
  14. The bow saw is a good one. If you really want to push the boat out silky saws are good.
  15. If its on its side I would look into the tank vent, and fuel pipe to carb, but the fuel pipe normally leads to poor running.

    Stud extractors. Easy way to do it. If they fail drill it out and re tap the hole. Have to drill in for the extractor anyway.
  17. Has it got any nylon washers between the bolts holding the coil down and the coil?
