  1. Wind is getting up and heavy rain forecast for tommorow starting tonight. Sitting here all evening and there wasn't a bit of a breeze. Now its just picked up, still blowing warm air, just stood outside and it just doesn't feel right. Call me mad but something is brewing.
  2. Wait for the ported ones to join in.......
  3. Hahahahaha nothing but stihl saw for on the ground then........ 260/171/088. I was going to say one husky and two stihls. Then when the husky breaks I can still use the stihl saws.
  4. It's t he bit on the crank behind the clutch and the big washer, check you messages. It pull off the crank, has the arm on in with the circlip bits. It runs off the drum notch. This then turns the oil pump. You will see it on the message I sent you and it should have an arm on it to catch in the notch on the drum. The arm missing will not stop the drum going on but if the washer is on the wrong way round it will hold the clutch out and be hard to rotate the crank.
  5. Glad to see its sorted. The first time I took one of these apart I didn't take any pics. Lesson learnt. Those throttle linkages are a real pita.
  6. I and I forgot. You are putting the big washer behind the clutch aswell? And the right way round. This can force the clutch out.
  7. Ok. Not much help. Lol. Ok so going to basics. Is the worm drive all the way in? Is the clutch going on the right way round. Simple I know but have to ask. Looks like the arm on worm drive is broken anyway, this part isn't trapped somewhere is it? Pm sent.
  8. The easy lift harness would make that a much easier job. Second on hating those...
  9. it cant be his, where is the bang tidy sticker???????????

:lol: Very good. Not on this boat its not, Normally we just get sent down there to see if we throw up or not. A good test is in the tiller flaps, at the end of the engine room there is a small hatch, behind this is the steering gear and tiller flaps, this area stinks of oil and grease and diesel. The worst place to go and always a guaranteed vomit inducing area.

And finally the important part. The engine room. Two Mercedes mtu v10 twin turbo engines. On idle these engines will only work 5 cylinders, the other five get fuel cut to them, saves a lot of fuel. Both engines run out at 1000 hp.

Next up is the survivors cabin. Its below deck under the wheelhouse. Can take 80 passengers down here, very cramped and not had to do it yet.

Relised I have loads of pics of the outside of the boat but non of the inside. So took some with the iPad today. First up is the wheelhouse. On the left is the helmsman seat, then the coxswain s seat, the to the right is the navigator seat.
  18. Just been catching up on this thread. Next time you are there ask them when they train and if they are going out. Then ask if you can pop along and see the launch. They will be more than willing to show you. Walmer lifeboat have a tractor on tracks, this is for pebble beaches, the trailer is also on tracks. They can be submerged as its been said. And then recovered at low water. Next to the lifeboats they are the biggest expense for the RNLI. Some will also have a very powerfull winch on the front to assist in pulling the lot back up the beach.

  21. If it was we would have taken a lot longer to hook up the tow...that's for sure. Plus we all be fighting as to who wanted to go on board the casualty vessel to hook it up..... Probably just under the 600 mark. As its not quite 1.60per litre. Hey we don't have to justify being sent, that's the coastguard s job.
  22. And our last fuel bill to fill up the 10,000 litre tank at station was around 6k.... Think we will stick to the cherryade...
  23. Yeah right..... Today we burnt 1000 litres on the job. So come on then brain boffins how much wold that be on a A stuff.... Don't think there would be a lifeboat for long...
