  1. Seems a common fault with Husky chargers (sorry I am primarially a Stihl man- was a Husky main dealer way before this lithium ion stuff was even thought of!) However all electrical goods have by EU law got to be covered by a two year warranty- the UK signed up to this way before brexit, so don't worry it still applies. Won't help you understand why they keep failing, but will at least help you obtain a new unit- however if this second failure is already a replacement for the original one that failed and the date of the ORIGINAL sale is over the 2 years now, then you won't be covered.
  2. Mix shouldn't make any difference. It's the manufacturer of the oil that dictates the dilution ratio of their oil to give the best performance- not the engine. You can mix Stihl stuff at recommended 50:1 ratio and will go in any non marine 2-stroke. The engine won't know.
  3. OK. Happy to pay carriage to get it to me. On evri should be no more than £12 plus some packaging, so say £15? I assume you just want it to go to a new home that will appreciate it and look after it, rather than anything for it?
  4. All sounds very convoluted and an adhoc way of doing buisness (both ways) Nothing in writing I assume? Adide from a few texts either way? Not being privvy to the exact arrangement it is difficult to advise. Sound like lack of info and professionalism for this job on both sides.

  6. Why not get on contact with AS motor? It's their machine and will have a technical dept...and they will have known service agents who they can give you details of.
  7. I remember watch jack on out of town when i was young. Learnt how to tie flies on a fishing line in one episode. Also remenber HOW with dineadge and jack., i dont recall graheme garden or cribbins in that though?

  11. £63 is a good price for 25L Oregon standard chain oil.
  12. Chains dont 'stretch' they bed in and wear-giving the impression they stretch. If they stretched in the true sense of the word, the rivets would fall out the joiners and it would come apart....and I've never seen that happen.

  14. Yup.....we sell both Stihl Synth and the 'traditional' Oregon......Oregon the better seller once customers have tried both. It's good stuff.

  17. That operation of the brake lever in your new video looks as it should. Does the chain rotate without the chain cover fitted. It could be several factors independent of the chain brake. Worn sprocket on the machine or bar, or both, burred chain teeth, incorrect chain fitted, sprocket bearing failure?? Would be good to see the condition of the sprocket on the saw itself...they can wear right through and the chain can 'lock' in the tooth on the sprocket

  19. Bars of that length are generally used for milling. A non sprocket nose bar tends to be more durable from that perspective- despite a small loss of power at the tip.

I agree......it just looks like the band is disengaged already, so just pulling the lever back further is just as far as it will go against the 'stop' as the band cannot expand any further due to the confines of the cover mounts. Like you say- push it hard forward and the band should compress like it is designed to. I don't quite understand what the issue is here. The brake is disengaged and the band is fully expanded as it should be.
  21. They are serviceable. Parts scarce though. Default position should be disengaged/off/band expanded to its largest. There should be little or no friction between the drum and the band in normal operation, so if you are suggesting it is trying to compress all the time, then like i say, it has developed a fault through part of the mechanism failing or has been re-assembled previously incorrectly. Google for a pdf parts list and take a look it will give you an idea of how it goes together and how to get it apart.
  22. Take a look at this video at about the 6min 30sec mark and you will see when the chainbrake is removed it is deactiaved and the band is in the same position as yours.
  23. In your video that brake band is in the disengaged position- there is nowhere around the circumfrence for it to expand any further if it wasn't already disengaged. The motion of the lever against the band looks to have been re-assembled at some stage incorrectly as it is working in the opposite direction to pull the band in to activate the brake
  24. Too many variables, so each and every day rate will be different. No two businesses are the same- differenct services, differing skill levels, different kit and equipment, staff levels, vat or not, travel, vehicles. I could go on. It's your business, so rather than look at what over disimilar businesses are charging, you need to look at your own costs, overheads and what margin you need to work to, to work profitably, then you can work out what you need to charge.
